The new SwissClassics Revue 96-2/2023 is now available from newsagents and is in subscribers' letterboxes. Once again, it provides information on new topics of interest to classic car enthusiasts. There is a report on the almost forgotten Lancia Fulvia Berlina saloon and an in-depth story dedicated to Franco Sbarro's "Challenge", with which the car manufacturer defied almost all conventions. The buyer's guide revolves around the Opel Manta B. Anyone who owned one in the past had to contend with numerous Manta jokes. There is also a story about the Reliant Scimitare GTE, a Granturismo sports car with a rear estate at a reasonable price. The "Special" deals with the topic of air conditioning in classic and modern cars. And that's by no means all ...
Lancia Fulvia 2C | Quality for all days
It was produced more often as a saloon than as a coupé, yet today you almost only see the coupé version. A pity, because as the Lancia Fulvia 2C, the "Berlina" combined quality and sportiness with suitability for everyday use.
Special | The cool breeze
More and more younger, well-equipped vehicles are reaching classic age - the proportion of cars with air conditioning among classic and modern cars is increasing accordingly.
This is not a bad thing per se, because the air conditioning is also very convenient in classic cars. If it still works as it should. If not, good advice is needed ...
Opel Manta B | Buying advice
The Opel Manta B has gone through several ups and downs as a car model over the past decades - from a nippy suburban coupé to a much-ridiculed consumer and tuning vehicle, today the Manta is once again a "cult" and will soon be a movie star again.
If you want to buy one, you should pay particular attention to the rust. And don't tinker around.
Reliant Scimitare GTE | The trendsetter
A Granturismo sports car with a hatchback at a reasonable price - something like this had yet to be invented at the end of the 1960s. Tom Karen and Reliant succeeded in doing just that.
Sbarro Challenge | Challenging, Outstanding
It is not easy to pick out a particularly wacky example from Franco Sbarro's diverse repertoire of wacky individual pieces. But in the mid-1980s, a car was created in Neuchâtel that defied almost all automotive conventions, apart from the number of wheels.
With the "Challenge" in 1985, Sbarro proved to the world that even a country without large-scale production had something to say in the automotive industry.
