The new SwissClassics Revue 93-5/2022 is on newsstands and in subscribers' mailboxes. It provides comprehensive information on new topics of interest to classic car enthusiasts. The 50th anniversary of the Audi 80 is celebrated and several generations are compared with each other for this purpose. A detailed driving report is devoted to the Vauxhall "12", which was an innovative design and was created at a time when Vauxhalls were not simply Opel vehicles with different brand lettering. The buyer's guide is dedicated to the cult BMW Isetta, which is popular but not without its flaws. The story of Peter Sauber and his first sports car, the C1, is also told. The "Special" deals with the hot topic of electronics in vintage and classic cars.
Audi 80 | The beginning of many things
Many fortunate circumstances were necessary for the Audi 80 to come into being. At the same time, the Type 80 was essential for Audi, but also for Volkswagen.
It developed over many model generations up to the A4 to become the mainstay of the Audi range. The Audi 80 LS, Audi 80 GTE, Audi 80 GL, Audi 80 L, Audi 80 CD, Audi 80 B3 and the Audi 90 B3 are presented here. Only with the B4 did the Audi 80 also come as a station wagon, but the Type 90 disappeared again.
Vauxhall 12 | Innovative on the road in a classic dress
The British automotive industry was one of the dominant forces before and after the Second World War. Vauxhall was one of the major manufacturers and, with its 10-4, 12-4 and 14-6 models, offered modern and affordable vehicles for the discerning motorist.
Electronics in classic and modern cars
Time passes - newer and newer generations of cars are reaching veteran age. They also have increasingly modern technology - including electronics.
Many classic car fans have great respect for ageing electronic components. Not entirely without reason. But electronics are not completely uncontrollable. This topic from issue 93-5/22 is considered a "Special".
BMW Isetta | Buyer's guide
The family is happy: unlike on a motorcycle in the past, the daughter is allowed to ride along in the Isetta and dad's suit stays clean on the road. It has been 67.5 years since BMW launched the Isetta. Nevertheless, it fits better into today's world than some younger cars.
It saves resources, takes up little space and is also incredibly appealing. But first you have to find one.
Sauber, Peter Sauber | Sauber C1
Peter Sauber is one of the most famous Swiss names in motor racing. His career began with a souped-up VW Beetle, but he soon built his first racing car.
The Sauber C1 is presented here, which was created in two copies and was recently back on the road.
