SwissClassics Revue 77-1/2020 is now available to buy at newsstands or order online. For once, this issue is not just about classic cars, but also gives a voice to those vehicles that are often pushed into the shadows by the classic automobile: Motorcycles. A separate article is dedicated to them. But of course the classic automobile in all its different variations and with all its different emblems is not neglected either ...
Jaguar XJ6 - The snow queen
The Jaguar XJ6 was praised to the skies by the testers. Be it the "bouquet of noble qualities", the very good handling, the driving comfort and so on. The XJ6 was an amazingly well-rounded automobile with almost no weaknesses. But how does the car perform now that around half a century has passed since production began? Is it still convincing? Or are there incomprehensible problems today? We took the car on a trip and chased it through the wintry idyll for a day. Find out what we learned and experienced on this trip in SwissClassics Revue 77-1/2020.
BMW 850i - 12-cylinder superlative in coupé guise
When the BMW 850i was presented to the public, one thing was clear from the outset: the Bavarians were entering the luxury coupé class. However, this luxury on four wheels was to cost the solvent buyer quite a bit. In return, however, they received a well-equipped coupé that could be further extended and customized with optional "delicacies". Nowadays, this coupé costs only a fraction of what it did back then and is therefore also interesting for less well-heeled people. We were able to personally convince ourselves of the qualities of the Bavarian in a test drive...
Aero 662 - Technical two-stroke
The name already suggests it: The Czechoslovakian company "Aero" deals with the construction of airplanes. But this was not always the case. For 11 years of the company's history, automobiles were also manufactured in the Czechoslovakian factories. Although these could not fly - Emmet Brown's DeLorean from the movie "Back to the Future" is responsible for this - they were able to establish themselves successfully on the road and also on the race track. Today, these vehicles are hardly ever seen on the road. So we were all the more delighted when we were given the opportunity to take one of these models out for a spin...
Citroën CX - Buying advice
Citroën has always been a car brand with a difference. It was no coincidence that the saying "There are cars and there is Citroën" came about, because when the Frenchman entered the garage, you knew: "Get the other toolbox!". The Citroën CX is one of these "exotics". Many newcomers find it difficult to understand this car at first, as the knowledge they have already acquired cannot be transferred 1:1 to the CX and Citroën in general. The purpose of the buying guide in Swiss Classics Revue 77-1/2020 on the Citroën CX is to help people who are not (yet) familiar with this terrain to make a purchase decision.
The motorcycle as a classic car - underestimated and popular
Do you immediately think of motorcycles when you read or hear the word "classic car"? Why not? After all, motorcycles also age and therefore inevitably become classic cars, but they don't attract as much attention as cars. And this despite the fact that there are more motorcycles than you would expect from the everyday street scene. The considerable number of vintage motorcycles on Swiss roads prompted us to dedicate a report to these two-wheelers in SwissClassics Revue 77-1/2020...
