In the new issue of Oldtimer Markt, you can once again read a variety of reports, articles and features on exciting topics. The Porsche 959 is put under the microscope. We find out why the Lancia Appia is not as well known as its sisters and tell the story of a Rolls-Royce car with a tank engine.
Papa Porsche
The aim was to construct a car that could win in Group B, but was also suitable for everyday use - this is how the Porsche 959 came about. In 1984, it was boldly claimed that this is what cars would look like in the year 2000. With the Porsche 959, an extremely innovative sports car was launched on the market, which was to serve as a model for many other Porsches.
The inconspicuous Appia
Alongside Lancia's classics, the Appia can be somewhat overlooked, although the compact, sporty car has kept the company afloat. Three series were produced between 1953 and 1962, with many variations. The Appia was a robust vehicle at a time when a car that was no longer considered modern often ended up on the scrap heap. However, the Appia did not give up as quickly as some of its contemporaries.
Armored car from Rolls-Royce

The special model portrayed here is a Rolls-Royce Phantom II fitted with an armored engine derived from the Merlin aircraft engine. This is how the shiny silver "old thing" achieves 1000 hp and pretty high speeds.
Duel - Peugeot 404 versus Citroën ID20
The two models were first registered in 1971. Two convinced French drivers have swapped their vehicles and now give their verdict - hydropneumatic futurism or steel-sprung trapezoidal lines?
Classic Concours in India
