The sixth issue of CURBS magazine in April once again has some exciting stories to tell from the world of historic motorsport. Thrilling stories, interesting race and racing car reports and the latest news from the scene - there's a bit of everything.
Rainer Braun talks about the R5 one-make cup
Rainer Braun has experienced the turbulent R5 Cup from the very beginning - as a journalist, track spokesman, instructor, press officer and in the early years as an active participant in the front line. 40 years later, he talks about "deceiving, tricking, camouflaging" at the 1974 R5 one-make cup as if it were just yesterday.
BMW and Group 1B
On eight pages, Curbs tells the story of the development of Group 1B, the connection with the 24 Hours of Spa and about BMW's 530i Gr. 1B, in particular about a Dutch ex-Alimpo version from 1977.
Did the GTA 1600 save the Alfa Romeo brand?
At the beginning of the 1960s, the sporting fame of the Alfa Romeo brand on the international stage was rather poor. The big championship titles and overall victories could not be won with the models of the time. But that changed with the launch of the Alfa Romeo GTA 1600 in early 1975...Curbs tells its story from the very beginning.
That was 1975
In an extensive report, Curbs tells of the 1975 one-make world championship, especially the 1000 km Nürburgring race and the Alfa 33 TT and its bumpy career. Many black and white but also color photos underpin the six-page report.
In the "Stories" section, you will also find the second part of the Sauber Mercedes story from the last issue as well as a report from Formula Vau, where Curbs tells the story of the Swedish manufacturer "Racing Plast" and its first model, the "Broke" with fiberglass bodywork.
Taking part in the Histo Monte 2015
There was no Histo Monte for two years. But this year's comeback event turned out to be the snowiest Histo-Monte ever - Curbs was there live at the sleigh ride and presents a detailed report with some beautiful photos.
In addition to the Histo Monte 2015, the sixth issue of Curbs also includes detailed reports from the Rallye-Boucles Bastogne and the Race-Rallye Kempenich.
And then there is also a portrait of Jim Clark, an interview with Jaguar, preliminary reports on the Bosch Hockenheim Historic and the Oldtimer Grand Prix and much more. So lots of reading material...
