The May issue of Auto Bild klassik is already on the newsstands, and this time the editors once again amaze us with unusual report compositions.
The lead article is dedicated to the three letters "GTI" and of course not only the classic "VW Golf GTI" is described in detail, but also the first GTI called Maserati 3500 GTI.
But there are also lesser-known representatives of the three letters, such as the Citroën CX GTI, the Suzuki Swift GTI or the Rover Metro 114 GTI 16V. And in a nutshell, almost ten other representatives are also presented.
Power to the farmer
In the mid-fifties, the diesel car became the favorite of farmers and cab drivers.
An article gets to the bottom of the charms of the Borgward Hansa 1800 Diesel and the Mercedes-Benz 180 D and 170Db.
The highs and lows of a passionate inventor
Walter Treser was a racing driver, co-developer of the Audi quattro and a passionate tuner.
However, he misjudged his own sports car and suffered a fiasco. To mark his 75th birthday, Auto Bild klassik published a portrait of the likeable inventor.
It's nice that an interesting overview of Treser's car creations was not forgotten in this article!
The eccentric second face
As early as 1966, the TH Aachen ventured into the Porsche 911 and developed a futuristic study with a fold-up passenger cabin. The result was not a complete success in formal terms and even 50 years later the look is not convincing. The new magazine tells the story with lots of photos.
And that's not the end of the reading material, because the current issue also reports on a now vacated car dealership in Passau with a lot of history, a comparison of Vespa and Lambretta, a vacation trip to Denmark in the 1980s and much more. And mechanics will be interested in the second part of the "Never break down again" series, which focuses on ignition systems. And the production of spare parts using 3D printers reveals new possibilities. So plenty of reading material ...
