Generational contract
The eighth model series of the 911 bears the type number 992. It contains a lot of model updates, a lot of the future and even a little of the past. And of course the claim to once again be the best 911 of all.
The truth is out there
It was a test vehicle, press car and company car for works racing drivers. A 911 S Targa prototype tells its story.
The first Porsche 911 Targa was the start of something completely new; the 911's career in motorsport began with the performance-enhanced S engine. But how and where did the story of the 911 S Targa begin?
Tuning - 964 GS - Fixed idea
The look is classic F-model, the basis Carrera 4. Inspired by the Californian Singer, the 964 GS is created in Raststatt in Baden.
The trend towards modern 911s with a historic look has arrived in Germany. The 964 GS1 is the name of the Baden interpretation of the Californian Singer model. It has more power and a lot of heart and soul, and the chances of it being produced in a limited edition are good.
At eye level - PF performance test - 912 E VS. 911 SC
With 2099 units built, the 912 E is one of the most exclusive, but not exactly one of the fastest Porsches. Georg Memminger from Reichertshofen wanted to change that and gave the VW engine a self-developed power cure. Is it enough to stand up to its big brother, the 911 SC?
Sportschau - 928 S Trigema - Lone fighter
The 928 was not born into motorsport. Porsche developers Günter Steckkönig and Hans Clausecker proved that it was nevertheless competitive on the racetrack. It was all a question of training.
Olaf Manthey and the 964 - love at second sight
It was one of those stories that fit the Porsche 911 so well. After all, it is polarizing, and some people had to learn to love it first. But should it really be someone like Olaf Manthey who experienced this?
914-6 GTR - Safety First
Nowadays, no one thinks much about the safety car that takes to the track at every race. But safety in motorsport has its own exciting story, and it starts with a Porsche car and a Porsche employee.
The PF experiment 911 G model find, buy, restore - back to life part 1
Was it boredom, exuberance? A thirst for adventure? Or what gives you the idea of restoring a 911 that was parked 28 years ago and getting it ready for sale? Porsche driver author Peter Trautmann wanted to find out what could happen and ventured an experiment with an uncertain outcome.
Happy ending - Porsche Museum Gmünd - back to the roots
In a former sawmill in the Austrian province of Carinthia, 44 coupés and 8 356 convertibles were assembled in a very small space between 1948 and 1949. The small town of Gmünd is still the nucleus of the great Porsche brand today. The Helmut Pfeifhofer Museum is a reminder of this.
The magazine can now be ordered from Heel-Verlag, among others.
