190,000 visitors are expected at the world's largest classic car trade fair - Techno Classica Essen - from April 15 to 19. Audi Tradition is prepared and will be showing various gems from its company history. NSU racing service buses and three motorcycles will also be on display.
Jewels from Audi's company history
The Ingolstadt-based company is presenting itself under the motto "Open to the top" and so this year convertibles and roadsters are the focus of Audi Tradition's appearance.
The highlights at the Audi stand include three well-known sports cars: a faithful replica of the elegant Audi Front 225 Roadster with its elongated hood will be on display on a contemporary Audi Front chassis. In addition, a DKW F 5 Roadster from 1937, which at the time was particularly appealing to young, sporty drivers, will also be on display. A Wanderer W 25 K from 1937 will also be on display.
The Auto Union 1000 Sp Roadster - another exhibit - catapults visitors back into the automotive world of the 1960s. The shape of the so-called "Sputnik", inspired by the American automobile design of the 1950s, is unmistakable.
At his side is the NSU Wankel Spider - the first car in the world to be equipped with a rotary engine as standard and which celebrated its debut at the 1963 IAA. Another unique model on display is the Audi 100 LS Cabriolet, which was presented by Karmann at the 1969 IAA and featured a fully retractable soft top that could be operated electro-hydraulically.
Other models on display include a volcano-black Audi Cabriolet from 1999 and an Audi TT Roadster, also from 1999. Three NSU racing motorcycles - an NSU 500 ssR, an NSU Rennfox and an NSU Sportmax - and an NSU racing service bus complete the Ingolstadt-based company's trade fair appearance.
Audi Tradition presents its gems on around 700 square meters in Hall 7.
