In December 2017, the exhibition halls in Nuremberg will be the venue for Retro Classics Bavaria for the second time from December 8 to 10. This year, visitors can once again look forward to unique special shows. One of the highlights will be the "Mythos Abarth" exhibition, which is supported by the Aumüller family and Autohaus Gemmel.
The legend of Karl Abarth begins with a competition. Little Karl is not even 11 years old when he straps leather belts around the wooden wheels of his soapbox in order to be faster than the neighbor's children. Karl Abarth challenges the Orient Express with his sidecar team and wins.
In 1949, Karl Abarth founds Abarth & C with Guido Scagliarini. The first vehicle is the 204 A Roadster, based on a FIAT 1100. In addition to racing, the company enters the production of accessories for refinement. Within a few years, Abarth & C. has 375 employees and produces 300,000 exhaust systems a year.
Abarth vehicles are handy and particularly powerful, small and snappy like the scorpion. In the 50s and beyond the 60s, the Abarth brand became synonymous with racing, automobile refinement and performance. And it changed the world of sports cars.
You can look forward to the special show.
