For three days, the 12th Motorworld Classics Bodensee will focus on classic mobility on land, on water and in the air. At the sales and event fair, which will take place from May 10 to 12, 2019 at the exhibition grounds in Friedrichshafen, enthusiasts and fans will come together for the big classic car meeting.
Exhibition Director Klaus Wellmann and Division Manager Roland Bosch sum it up: "The concept of Motorworld Classics Bodensee is unique: no other classic car exhibition reflects the theme of classic mobility so perfectly. In addition to the emotional and dynamic events, the broad diversity also inspires the spectators - renowned classic car dealers and restoration companies are on site as well as numerous clubs and celebrate the classic car lifestyle. For every budget
Exclusive collector's vehicles are on offer at the exhibition grounds alongside classic cars for the small budget. Over 800 exhibitors, including 100 brand clubs and participants, will be present in ten halls on 85,000 square meters of exhibition space.
Around 38,000 visitors from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and France are expected over the three days of the trade fair.
Vehicles and parts
In addition to the offerings of renowned vehicle dealers and private suppliers, Motorworld Classics Bodensee also offers a full range for those looking for spare parts and accessories in the form of the parts market. The range extends from automotive rarities, motorcycles and racy Riva boats to classic accessories for classic car drivers. Whether it's watches for the passionate road trip participant or offers for a well-kept vacation with a historic vehicle - the range is extensive and comprehensive.
Very British special show
Roland Bosch is delighted that the classic car fair on Lake Constance is described by experts as the German counterpart to Goodwood in England. "This brings us full circle to the special show 'British Classic Cars & Bikes'. From the Mini to the stately Rollce-Royce, from the BSA to the exclusive Brough Superior: vehicles from Great Britain, whether two, three or four-wheeled, are still something special today.
This great tradition will be honored at Motorworld Classics Bodensee with the special show British Classic Cars & Bikes. When the Jaguars, Bentleys, MGs and, among others, the Rollce Royce of boxing legend Muhammad Ali stand around Big Ben in the West Foyer, it is not only the hearts of England fans that beat faster. The special Isle of Man show will demonstrate that the British are also extremely enthusiastic about motor racing. The theme of England will be rounded off by the ACE Café, the legendary London biker meeting place, in front of which visitors arriving on a vintage motorcycle (built up to 1989) can park in style.
Classics under the hammer
Classic cars will also go under the hammer at this year's Motorworld Classics Bodensee: various historic vehicles will be auctioned off on Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 2 p.m. as part of the classic car fair in exhibition hall B1. The Rosenkranz auction house will examine and evaluate the consignments in close cooperation with experts and compile a catalog with selected items for the auction. Customers have a free choice, so to speak, and can perhaps fulfill a long-cherished dream or even purchase a piece of contemporary history at auction.
Professional restoration
The value of a classic car increases with the degree of its originality. This makes professional quality all the more important when it comes to restoration. Whether bodywork, engine, interior or electronics: the specialist companies exhibiting at Motorworld Classics Bodensee guarantee optimum restoration of the vehicles. An expert will also be present at the trade fair and can provide expert advice: Joachim Ohlinger has been restoring historic vehicles for 46 years. "I've had my hands on everything that's good and expensive": Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa P3 through to the Mercedes Silver Arrow." For him, this is "pure technology" and he affirms: "You can understand the technology and, as a technically enthusiastic person, you can also grasp it."
Joachim Ohlinger's day-to-day business is not just about historic racing cars. His specialty is rare car bodies and sophisticated technology. Three very rare BMW 328 classic cars with special bodies will be on display at his stand. A BMW Touring from the pre-war period, the BMW Veritas K1 by Karl Kling and a former 2+2 seater BMW 328 "Coupé" with the designation "Ameisenbär", which was still an open convertible when it was delivered in 1936.

Classic car clubs are the most important source of information for owners seeking advice. They are an indispensable treasure trove of restoration tips. Anyone looking for spare parts is in the right place at the club stands. In addition, the sociable petrolheads at the club stands guarantee a welcome break from the hectic pace of everyday life.
Aviation classics at the start
Friedrichshafen is the cradle of aviation. It was here that the first Zeppelin rose from a floating island almost 120 years ago. This tradition alone makes Motorworld Classics Bodensee the Mecca for fans of classic aviation. Thanks to its direct proximity to Friedrichshafen Airport, the dream of flying can be experienced up close.
In addition to the special show with 20 historic and airworthy aviation classics in Hall A3, the air show with Germany's best pilots starts daily at 2:30 pm. The sound of the radial engines alone will make fans sit up and take notice. This year, a former military jet, the Fouge Magister, will provide a special sound backdrop.
Vintage and sports car racing
A special highlight of Motorworld Classics Bodensee is the exhibition circuit. Here, visitors can experience the breathtaking atmosphere of glorious racing eras up close.
The growing number of classic racing cars from the pre-war era through to the DTM racing cars of the 1980s will be on display in full action. In the paddock in Halls A6 and A7, you can watch the mechanics working on their cars live.
50 years of Woodstock - the cars of the hippies
Even if it's already 50 years ago - the hippies of the "Summer of 69" and the legendary Woodstock Festival will make young and old reminisce. The musical earworms of the flower power generation such as "California Dreamin and San Francisco" are hits for the ages. Some vehicles have survived the test of time and are part of the special show of T1/T2 Bullis.
The Queen of the Sun
The special cruise on the event ship "Sonnenkönigin" is also dedicated to the "Summers of 69". On the evening of Saturday, May 11, 2019, all hippies past and present will be able to relive the legendary flower power summer with songs by Scott McKenzie, Joe Cocker, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Santana and many more.
