The organizers describe the "Moonwalk Trophy" as an event for absolute aficionados. It has been held annually since 1998. The young plant has been nurtured and cared for and is now made accessible to a larger number of friends of extraordinary automotive pleasure. The 2014 Alpine Drive will take place on the night of June 13-14, 2014.
The only requirement for participation is a vehicle that is a pleasure to drive through the Alps, there are no age restrictions.
A simple recipe for driving pleasure
In the Moonwalk Trophy, participants start in Switzerland and ride south over Alpine passes to enjoy a champagne breakfast by the sea. After driving over some of the most beautiful roads in Europe, the Trophy winner is crowned at the end.
The Moonwalk Trophy is not a race; the ride takes place on public roads that are not closed off. There are also no regularity tests. It's about riding pleasure and not speed, which is important to the organizers.
Inexpensive fun
The low participation fee of CHF 296 (EUR 248) includes a road book, welcome refreshments, a small dinner en route, a champagne breakfast at the finish and the winner's trophy if you win.
Not included is a hotel at the still undisclosed destination. Participants will receive the coordinates of the start and finish locations and recommendations for hotel accommodation in good time before the start.
Registration is open until 23 May 2014, but the number of places is limited and interest is high according to the organization.
Registration can be completed online on the Moonwalk Trophy website.
