On September 23 and 24, 2023, the Memorial Mountain Race will take place in Steckborn for the fifth time. This year's field of participants is larger than ever before: more than 300 cars and over 40 motorcycles will take on the almost three-kilometre route from Untersee to Eichhölzli.
The vehicles are divided into different categories according to age, model or country of origin. This year there will also be a special Porsche class to mark the 75th anniversary. Regardless of the class, there are two types of races: Memorial Corso and Memorial Performance.
In the Memorial Corso category, the participants drive a demonstration run up the course as a column at a moderate pace. In the Memorial Performance category, participants start one after the other and ride at a more sporty pace. However, there is no timekeeping here either.
A day ticket for adults costs 20 francs, for children 8 francs. Weekend tickets cost 35 and 12 francs respectively. Children under the age of six are admitted free of charge. There is a special rate for visitors arriving in a classic car (built up to 1986).
