On August 6, 2022, the 100th anniversary of the famous Klausen races from 1922-1934 will be celebrated at Klausen. After 5 memorial Klausen races between 1993 and 2013 with pre-war vehicles, no organizer has succeeded in organizing a Klausen race for the anniversary due to the special circumstances. The Diavolo Motor Classic association has therefore founded an OC that will commemorate the legendary international hill climb on the Klausen with an anniversary memorial on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
Show rides on a closed road
The core of the event is a national classic car exhibition on the Urnerboden, limited to 600 vehicles, with classic cars and motos from the years 1910 - 1979. Around 400 of these road-legal vehicles can take part in a show drive from the Urnerboden to the finish house on the Klausen Pass.
These mountain drives of around 13 km (with a return to the Urnerboden) are tackled in various age categories.
During these show rides, the road between Klausenpass and Urnerboden will be closed to private traffic from 09:00 to 18:00. The future of mobility will also be demonstrated with electric or hybrid pace cars in front of each category and in exhibitions.
Attractive for spectators
The public will thus be offered an impressive live presentation of racing cars of the time as well as an attractive journey through automobile and motorcycle history.
Restaurants, various alpine pubs, food stands and the large marquee in the village of Urnerboden provide for your physical well-being.
Travel individually or by public transport
- Individual arrival for spectators by car, motorcycle or camper van:
Spectator parking spaces on the Urnerboden and Klausen Pass are limited and are now available in advance. The parking ticket costs CHF 30.00 per car (also valid for motorhomes) and CHF 10.00 for motorcycles, admission to the event is free. It is therefore worth filling up your car and purchasing a parking ticket as soon as possible to be sure of a parking space! Tickets for visitors can be purchased immediately on the event website. - Arrival by public transport:
Arrival by public transport will be according to the SBB and Postbus timetable. PostBus Switzerland will expand its capacities as far as possible. There will be a free shuttle service on the Urnerboden. Buses will take guests from the parking lots in Linthal to Urnerboden. Tickets for these buses will be sold on site. - Day trip in a vintage Postbus:
Various owners of vintage Postbuses from different parts of Switzerland will be traveling to the anniversary event with members of the public as part of a rally. The price per person, the boarding points and the departure times for this unique attraction are determined by the providers themselves, as the distances vary. Registrations can be made with the individual companies.
Only 30 starting places still available for the anniversary show ride!
Most of the show ride categories are already sold out. As a supporter of the 100th anniversary event at Klausen, participants can still secure one of the last 30 starting places in the attractive "Klausen Race / Sponsors" category with a supporter contribution of CHF 500.00 or more (applies to sports cars built between 1922 and 1979). This will actively support the organization of the 100th anniversary activities.
Further information and registration options can be found on the event website.
