Following the example of the legendary "London to Brighton Run" in Great Britain, the Swiss Museum of Transport, together with partners (Pantheon in Basel, Freunde alter Motorrä(FAM), the Rothenburg Carriage Museum, the Swiss Bicycle Veterans Club, Automobil Revue, Swiss Classic World, the Swiss Car Register and the Swiss Historic Vehicle Federation (SHVF)) are organizing a run for cars, motorcycles, carriages, bicycles and carriages from Lucerne to Basel.
Taking part and arriving is the goal
As in London, only vehicles from the first mobility era up to and including 1904 are permitted, at least for cars. Motorcycles, sidecars and bicycles may be built up to and including 1924. No times are measured.
Extensive program
While Saturday's schedule mainly includes presentation rides in Lucerne, Sunday morning gets down to business from 07:00. After the preparations for the start, the carriages will set off at 07:45, the cars, motorcycles and bicycles at 08:00.
At 10:30 the re-start takes place in Dagmersellen, at 12:30 another re-start in Trimbach. In this way, the field stays together.
Between 13:30 and 16:00, the vehicles are expected at the Pantheon Basel.
