The event, which began in 2013 as a charity project of the Monteceneri Lions Club, has developed into an event of international importance over the years. To date, the initiative has raised around 140,000 Swiss francs, which has been distributed to charity. In 2019, the regularity rally was supplemented by the Concorso di Eleganza: the most beautiful classic cars are rigorously judged by an international jury and have been competing for the "Best of Show" trophy ever since.
The decision to hold the Concorso d'Eleganza in the heart of Lugano and during the day on Saturday was made deliberately to support the commercial activities in the center of Lugano in a synergistic and concrete way.
Successful realization in 2022
The 2022 edition, with its novelties and coveted prizes, attracted an extraordinary flow of lovers of the "beautiful and well-made", marking a turning point for the event. Lugano Elegance has become an unmissable event that enlivens the center of Lugano with a distinguished public from Switzerland and abroad, and Lions in Classic has been nominated for the "Door Opener Award". The event has received the patronage of the Lugano Region, the City of Lugano, the Via Nassa Lugano Association and the Municipality of Monteceneri, confirming its importance for the area.
As Mayor Michele Foletti emphasized, this type of event plays an important role for the city and the region from both an economic and cultural point of view.
"And Lugano Elegance promises to be even better this year, offering the public and participants an unforgettable experience in contact with around fifty wonderful historic vehicles that will put a jury of experts of international standing to the test. We are very honoured that the "1000 Miglia Warm Up CH" will once again take place on the same day in Lugano to enrich a parterre of automotive history and culture at the highest level," says Massimo Albertini, President of the Organizing Committee of Lugano Elegance.

The patronage of the City of Lugano and the Via Nassa association was recently made official with the exhibition of two beautiful historic vehicles on the terrace of Lugano City Hall: a perfect partnership between representatives of national and international savoir-vivre. This synergy is based on the concrete desire to enhance a street of culture and the search for beauty and to put the spotlight on the natural stage on which this incredible fair takes place: Lugano - a city capable of looking to the future while always keeping an eye on a past of taste, class and style.
