On the weekend of October 21 and 22, 2023, the Lugano Classic will be entirely dedicated to four-wheeled vintage and classic cars. This means classic cars, but also special, rare and timeless racing cars, with the opportunity to discuss with collectors and brand clubs and come into contact with specific focal points.
The "Lugano Classic" is a meeting of classic and vintage cars, which is taking place for the third time this year. The event aims to accompany collectors, enthusiasts and the curious into the world of engines, offering them a weekend with the flair of times gone by, like in a movie: a leap between past and present, pastel colors and roaring engines, where the stars will be the most amazing cars, in a unique setting that never ceases to enchant - that of Lugano and Ticino.
A passion for history
The highlights of this edition include: In addition to a space entirely dedicated to racing cars - rally and circuit - the presence of prestigious guests, authoritative representatives of this fascinating world, such as Corrado Lopresto and Axel Marx.
The Lugano Classic aims to be an opportunity for the whole community to share the passion for the history of the automobile.
"Lugano Classic is an event that is very much welcomed by the Lugano region and the city of Lugano and that combines the passion for classic cars with the beauty of a region that is rich in beauty and deserves to be enhanced and promoted," emphasizes Filippo Lombardi, Councillor of the City of Lugano.
Two days with a packed program
The event takes place over two days, with the option of attending on Saturday or Sunday only.
On Saturday, there will be an exhibition of classic car treasures - and more. Authentic works of art on four wheels will be on display in the main squares of Lugano. The owners of the vehicles will be happy to share stories and curiosities about the restoration and history of the individual vehicles. The stands will offer products and activities for the whole family, such as guided tours in Italian and German of the city and its secrets, tourist train rides and a local gastronomic market, to name but a few.
The main attraction on Sunday is a tour through breathtaking panoramas with culinary specialties. The panoramic tour will take participants along picturesque roads with unique landscapes: Routes that will revive the glorious atmosphere of racing amidst games of skill and culinary stops in search of typical products from the Sottoceneri.
