The Limmattal Beetle Club and the Schinznacher Baumschulbahnen are organizing a joint get-together for the first time on 24/25 August 2019, which is open to friends and fans of all VW Beetles, buses and the like. An exhibition in "eleven pictures" will show the world of the old Beetle.
There must have been a Beetle in every family, or everyone knew someone who had one. So it is not surprising that the VW Beetle and its "siblings", such as the VW Bus, the Karmann-Ghia and others, are among the most popular classic cars in Switzerland.
A meeting of two worlds
On the weekend of August 24 and 25, 2019, all friends of the Beetle and its relatives will meet with all fans of the steam train. This will take place on the grounds of the Zulauf garden center in Schinznach-Dorf in Aargau. Because this is the home of the Schinznacher Baumschulbahnen SchBB.
What began as a transport railroad in 1928 is now a tourist attraction. Nine steam and six 600 mm gauge diesel locomotives are in operation at weekends.
Air cooling in the center
And on the last weekend in August, the railroads get company in the form of air-cooled Volkswagens of all types. Whether 50s, 60s or 70s, dolce vita from and in post-war Italy, beach and buggies, the Beetle in racing or on the big screen and much more. On the other hand, the organizing Beetle Club Limmattal is of course also hoping for many visitors who come with their Beetle or bus.
The event starts at 09:00 on Saturdays and Sundays and lasts until 17:00. Admission is always free. And if you fancy a spontaneous ride on the steam train, you can buy a ticket on site.
