Goodwood or Lenzerheide? If you are a little indulgent and look at this year's field of participants and the vehicles on show, the difference is smaller than expected - except that the Lenzerheide Motor Classics take place on the highest circuit in Europe!
Winning car at the time
The British brands, above all Jaguar and Aston Martin, will be very prominently represented next weekend! Dr. Christian Jenny, a renowned expert on the brand and collector, will be driving the original Jaguar XK 120 Alu, in which Albert "Bätsch" Scherrer drove to victory in the premier class over 3000 cc at the Tiefencastel-Lenzerheide hill climb in 1951.
The paddock offers a unique opportunity to admire this vehicle and meet the owner in person! In total, no fewer than 13 representatives of the cult brand from Coventry are at the start and represent an exciting overview of Jaguar's racing past.
Racing cars from "Mr. Bean"
Another "Made in Britain" sensation is the former racing car of "Mr. Bean" Rowan Atkinson, which he successfully drove on numerous occasions in the 1990s: the legendary Aston Martin V8 Zagato Coupé! Only 51 examples of this rarity were produced and it is one of the three examples exhibited at the 1986 Geneva Motor Show.
Commissioned by Rowan Atkinson, the car was converted into a racing car by Aston Martin Works, the weight reduced by 300 kg and the engine tuned to an impressive 482 hp. The current owner, Dr. Alexander Lienau, will be presenting and driving the legendary vehicle at this year's LMC. Another treat is the new Aston Martin DB12, whose 680 hp and 800 NM catapult it from standstill to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and enable a top speed of 325 km/h. It can be admired at the stand of the coveted race cabs at the village exit

In addition to these rarities, the 11th Lenzerheide Motor Classics offers many other highlights - to list them all would go beyond the scope of this article. The fields with racing cars from the 70s and 80s are particularly appealing to the "younger" generation, who were able to follow the events of these racing cars live or on television with great excitement in their youth and who made many a boy's and girl's heart beat faster!
There will be 9 fields, which reflect an impressive overview of the racing history of the last 10 decades.
The Lenzerheide Motor Classics are also known for their legendary field of around 45 racing motorcycles from all eras. Enthusiasts of the two-wheeled department can look forward to one of only 3 Herkules 502 WGS built in 1976, which is equipped with a KC31 Wankel engine, or to the MySeeley 750 MKII, a one-off designed by Colin Seeley/GB in 1969, which reached an incredible top speed of 242 KMH on the basis of a Norton Commando 750 cc engine with 80 HP.
Many attractions off the track
Of course, in addition to non-stop action on the circuit, the Lenzerheide Motor Classics offer many attractions and numerous catering options in the paddock on both days. In the freely accessible paddock, you can get a taste of the racing atmosphere, admire the vehicles up close and talk to the drivers on a 1:1 basis. As every year, admission to the LMC is free of charge, although you can make a voluntary contribution to one of the association's climate protection projects with a 10-franc sympathy wristband and also receive a drinks voucher.
Speaking of climate protection: the LMC association offsets the entire ecological footprint and is also supported by the numerous pilots who voluntarily use synthetic fuel, which is 100% fossil-free and 85% climate-neutral!
