In quick succession, two well-known Austrian classic car specialists have given up their independence. On June 28, 2021, Franz Wittner informed his customers and business partners that he had transferred one hundred percent of his company shares to West Consulting GmbH.
In future, Franz Wittner himself wants to concentrate more on spare parts for the Porsche and Mercedes-Benz brands, as well as American and Italian vehicles.
On July 1, 2021, the next big bang. The Hödlmayr Classic Car Center becomes the "Car Collection Center". Hödlmayr AG is thus handing over the "Hödlmayr Classic Car Center" location in Schwertberg, Upper Austria, to the new operator, Car Collection GmbH.
Since the Hödlmayr Classic Car Center was founded in 2012, the location has developed into a meeting place for car enthusiasts from Austria and all over Europe. Winner of several awards, including the Concours d'Élégance at the Techno Classica, unique gems of automotive history were exhibited in Schwertberg, lovingly maintained, elaborately restored and sold to customers all over the world.
With the strategic realignment of Hödlmayr AG in response to the significantly changed market environment caused by COVID-19 and many other factors, the owners decided, after a thorough analysis, to no longer manage the subsidiary "Hödlmayr Classic Car Center" themselves in the future.
After intensive discussions under clear benchmarking guidelines, a congenial partner from the regional economic area was found as the new operator in Car Collection GmbH, thus creating the conditions for a seamless transfer of operations.
Car Collection GmbH was formed a few days earlier from Car Collection Wittner GmbH, a specialist for classic cars established in Dietach near Steyr since 1995. The current owner MMag. Rudolf Weiermayer, who acquired the predecessor company in several stages via his company West Consulting, brings the ideal mix of entrepreneurial spirit and passion for this new challenge as an investor and car collector. At least that's what Hödlmayr's press release says.
According to Hödlmayr, the takeover ensures that the high demands of customers in terms of quality, competence and professionalism can be met at all times under the new management. This was the only decisive factor for KR Johannes Hödlmayr in agreeing to pass on his passion to the new operator.
We will certainly be hearing a lot more about the new Car Collection Center in the near future. With 500 square meters of showroom space and 260 square meters of workshop space, together with a further 700 square meters of hall storage capacity, they are certainly well exhibited.
