Finally, on September 27, 2013, the time has come. The 11th International Klausen Race will get underway. From September 27 to 29, 2013 , the engines will be humming and the superchargers screeching once again in the Urnertal.
The lists of participants are filling up, but there is still room for a few determined people who want to drive their historic racing car up the Klausen Pass, ideally from the time of the original Klausen Race.
"Of course the race will take place," said Daniel Geissmann, who organizes the race, when asked.
The vehicles that have already been registered are already making connoisseurs' mouths water. Alfa Romeo in all shades, Alvis, Riley, Aston Martin, Invicta, MG, Maserati, Lagonda, S.S./Jaguar, BMW - a number of pre-war racers from these brands are already registered. However, the provisional start list also includes lesser-known brands such as Derby, Deutsch Bonnet, Lea Francis, Locomobile and Marendaz.
And the fans are hoping that a Silver Arrow will also be competing alongside the Mercedes SSK, which may then be able to compete with an Auto Union, as well as a horde of Bugattis, including the legendary sixteen-cylinder.
The registration deadline is June 30, 2013- it's now or never, after all, a Klausen race doesn't happen every year (but hopefully again in 2015).
Further information and the entry form can be found on the event website. A report from the 2012 prologue can be found here.
