Next May, the classic car world will once again be in full bloom. From May 5 to 7, 2023, more than 500 exhibitors, clubs and participants as well as thousands of classic car and youngtimer fans are expected to attend Klassikwelt Bodensee in Friedrichshafen. "A region whose DNA is characterized by mobility, an international catchment area with a population that is enthusiastic about classic mobility on land, on water and in the air across all generations - paired with a diverse product world, all this comes together at Klassikwelt Bodensee in a format that is unique in Germany. Our event scheduling is the ideal opportunity to meet up on a large scale at the start of the season and experience mobility through the ages," explains Exhibition Director Klaus Wellmann. New impulses will also be set in 2023 - in terms of appearance with a new Klassikwelt Bodensee logo and conceptually.
With their 15 years of classic car experience, the trade fair organizers know how to bring historical and contemporary mobility into a valuable harmony. After three events under the name Motorworld Classics Bodensee, the 14th edition is now returning as Klassikwelt Bodensee with the old name and new logo. "Our logo captivates with clarity and yet is reminiscent of the 'good old days'. The black and white checkered flag symbolizes what the trade fair is all about: the joy of driving. The joy of classic mobility in one of the most beautiful regions in the world," says Project Manager Roland Bosch, who, together with his team, is highly motivated as preparations get underway: "Important brands and dealers have already confirmed their participation for 2023."
In terms of content, Klassikwelt Bodensee 2023 is designed as a trade fair for classic cars with the dealer and restoration area in the B halls and the event area on the A axis with suppliers of accessories, accessories and services, a diverse club world and the vintage racing circuit on the airport side. The airshow will also return here in 2023 with the classics of the skies in a unique performance.
The past is sustainability
The fact that the classic car hobby is a very sustainable one is becoming even more apparent now and at the upcoming trade fair. The topic of classic mobility can also represent a positive counter-trend to the environmentally harmful disposable mobility of new vehicles. Many connoisseurs know that, with modifications, their indestructible classic car engine will also be able to swallow CO2-neutral biofuel in the future. Their owners have been enjoying the very stable financial investment of classic cars for years as a welcome side effect.
Seniors are mentors
New tires are being rolled out for the focus topics of Klassikwelt Bodensee: The trade fair organizers are launching the new "Seniors are Mentors" initiative in 2023. "The aim is to establish a group of experienced experts who will meet regularly every few weeks in various workshops to teach young technology fans and mechatronics engineers about old vehicle technology. We are now looking forward to receiving applications from 'old masters'. We will invite them and all those interested in the idea to the official information event at Klassikwelt Bodensee," says Roland Bosch, initiating a new exchange platform that will extend beyond the days of the trade fair.
The moderated special show "Classic cars that tell stories" will present historic vehicles and the adventures of their owners to the entire trade fair audience every day on the action stage in the West Foyer. The emotional moments of the classic car scene will be in the spotlight here.
Are convertibles and coupés out? At least that's the impression given by the registration statistics for electric cars. Yet the first automobiles, derived from horse-drawn carriages, were pure convertibles. With the advent of mass mobility, the motorized carriages were given a sturdy tin roof. What could be more obvious to improve the appearance than to shorten such tin roofs? The more attractive saloon was called a coupé. Today, convertibles and coupés are sought-after objects among the classics of automotive history with enormous value stability. With the special show "The Most Beautiful Convertibles & Coupés", Klassikwelt Bodensee is planning the largest and most comprehensive collection of these vehicle categories.
The project team is now accepting registrations for all areas and special events at the new Klassikwelt Bodensee.
