On May 28 and 29, 2022, the Schleswig-Holstein Classic Car Days will take place for the eighth time in the Holstenhallen in Neumünster. In 2019, almost 15,000 visitors and 150 exhibitors visited the Holstenhallen Neumünster, which covered around 14,000 square meters of indoor space and over 25,000 square meters of outdoor space. The organizers expect similar figures for 2022. The Verband des Kfz-Gewerbes Schleswig-Holstein will once again assume the conceptual sponsorship and present its range of services with its member companies in Hall 1. Numerous classic car clubs will proudly display their lovingly restored classic cars and will be available to answer interested visitors' model-specific questions. Tools, spare parts, specialist books, model cars, automobilia and suitable clothing - you can browse extensively in the parts market and are sure to find what you are looking for.
Opel anniversary
Even though important anniversaries, such as 50 years of the Manta and Ascona, were to be celebrated in the Holstenhallen in 2020, Lütjenburg Opel dealer Roland Barleben is presenting the special exhibition "Opel Anniversaries" in Hall 2.
Around 20 vehicles as well as posters and advertising materials allow visitors to immerse themselves in the good old days of the brand with the lightning bolt.
Honda exhibition
Another automotive specialty is this year's Honda exhibition with models that were frequently seen on German roads in the 70s, 80s and 90s, but of which often only a handful survived. Who remembers the folding headlight elegance of the Honda Prelude? The very first Accord, the concentrated power of the Legend coupes? Automobile beauties away from the "classic car mainstream".
Non-stop entertainment
Visitors can expect to be entertained by the "Kieler Blechmusikanten", a theater project by musician Heinz Ratz. In a staged reading, a Fiat 126p is transformed into a spy for the notorious Italian secret service, a Volvo general philosophizes scathingly about round-sucked small cars, a punk Golf is placed next to an upper-class BMW and the whole thing is garnished with a good dose of humour and music.
The Vosswerk car dealership from Moorege provides its historic Jaguar XJ6 and chauffeurs visitors through Neumünster for a donation to a good cause. And since this is usually not very interesting for the little ones, they can have their faces painted or play on the bouncy castle.
The popular classic car parking lot is also set up again. Visitors who come to the Classic Car Days in a classic car can park for free and benefit from reduced admission.
Georg Meyering, whose almost complete knowledge of classic cars never ceases to amaze visitors, presents incoming vehicles on the ramp in front of the Württemberg Oldtimer Area.
Rallies
And for those who would like to drive to the trade fair together with other classic car drivers on the Saturday of the fair, May 28, 2022, the popular rallies offer an exciting opportunity: up to 30 participants will start together from a total of ten locations in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg in the direction of Neumünster. Starting places can be booked on the event website.
In addition to a rally sign, road book, small breakfast or packed lunch and two admission tickets to the trade fair, for 40 euros you will receive a tour recommendation for traveling to the Schleswig-Holstein Classic Days in your own classic car via scenic routes.
Harmonious surroundings
The Holstenhallen Neumünster offer the right ambience for the presentation of classic vehicles: built in 1939 as a livestock auction hall, it was extended, expanded and modernized after the war. Today, as the city's own congress and exhibition area, it offers modern infrastructure and logistics without concealing the charm of the old days. The exhibition grounds can be easily reached within an hour via the A7 highway from the Danish border to the Elbe. If you don't like it so fast, you can take the numerous federal and country roads and enjoy the rapeseed fields that are still in bloom at this time of year.
