The Lenzerheide Motor Classics from June 11 to 13, 2021 will not take place. For the second time in a row, the event has fallen victim to the measures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. As last year, the organizers are planning a small-scale summer event in August 2021 instead.
Lead time is not enough
It would be the first major event to kick off the summer season in the Lenzerheide vacation region when the historic racing and sports cars, motorcycles, sidecars and three-wheelers take to the world's highest circuit. Over 200 vehicles and motorcycles as well as many visitors at the side of the track have enjoyed the spectacle of the Lenzerheide Motor Classics in recent years. This year, however, the gas pedals will remain untouched for the second year in a row.
Based on the latest information and forecasts from the Federal Council, the organizers of the Lenzerheide Motor Classics are forced to cancel the planned event from 11 to 13 June 2021. The three-phase model for major events presented by the Federal Council does not provide enough light for the event to take place. After consultation with the canton of Graubünden, it is not realistic to hold the event as part of an accompanied pilot test for major events from June 2021 due to the short lead time.
Small summer festival instead of large crowds
The annual gathering of motorsport enthusiasts in Lenzerheide should not be canceled due to the cancellation of the Lenzerheide Motor Classics. Similar to last year, the organizers are planning a small-scale summer event in August 2021. Drivers will receive further information on this directly from the organizing committee.
Postponed to 2022
The next edition of the Lenzerheide Motor Classics will take place from June 10 to 12, 2022.
