The Swiss Classic Award will be held for the third time in 2020! On October 31, 2020, the award and prize presentation will take place at the autobau erlebniswelt in Romanshorn.
Who deserves a prize?
We are now looking for people and projects who are eligible for nomination in the following three Swiss Classic Award categories:
- "Swiss Classic Innovation Award 2020"
People and projects that have made a new, innovative contribution to the continued existence and further development of the classic car scene will be nominated. These innovative contributions can be of a technical nature, for example, or involve new event formats or new legal frameworks that have had a positive influence on the continued existence of this scene. - "Swiss Classic Rookie Award 2020"
In this category, we are looking for people and projects that have distinguished themselves in the area of promoting young talent for the classic car scene. For example, by specifically addressing and integrating young people. And who inspire this important new generation for the classic car scene. - "Swiss Classic Door Opener Award 2020"
People and projects that have addressed and opened up new target groups for the topic of classic cars and vintage cars can be entered. This includes, for example, initiatives and events that help to further increase the proportion of women in this scene. Or that build a bridge to other emotional worlds of experience such as art or music.
Individuals or organizations that are eligible for the awards according to the individual categories can either register their projects or activities themselves on the award website using the relevant form or be nominated and registered by third parties by 31 May 2020.
An expert jury will then decide which three (3) of the nominees per category will be nominated for the public vote via the Internet (from July 2020).
Another highlight of the Swiss Classic Award 2020 will once again be the "Lifetime Award", which will not be publicly announced but will be determined by the expert jury in an internal selection process.
From 2020, the Swiss Classic Award will be supported as a presenting partner by Belmot, the specialist insurance company for classic cars. In addition, autobau Romanshorn, theSHVF (Swiss Historic Vehicle Federation) and the Swiss classic car trade fair Swiss Classic World are also involved as partners.
The candidates for the Swiss Classic Award and the winners will be determined as follows from 2020:
Candidates for the "Swiss Classic Innovation Award 2020", the "Swiss Classic Rookie Award 2020" and the "Swiss Classic Door Opener Award 2020" will be determined in a first step via a call for entries through the media partners (from the end of April 2020 to May 31, 2020).
Until 31 May 2020, individuals or organizations that are eligible according to the call for entries for the individual categories can either register themselves with their projects or activities using the corresponding form on the website or be nominated and registered by third parties
The jury, which also has the right of nomination, will determine the final "short list" for the public vote.
The winners of the "Swiss Classic Innovation Award 2020", the "Swiss Classic Rookie Award 2020" and the "Swiss Classic Door Opener Award 2020" will then be determined in a second step by the widest possible public vote (June 30, 2020 to September 30, 2020).
The award ceremony will then take place on October 31, 2020 at the autobau erlebniswelt in Romanshorn.
This public vote will be widely and effectively publicized via the existing communication channels of the Swiss Classic Award organization and as many other media partners as possible.
