Jaguar Land Rover has today announced that it has succeeded in acquiring the largest private collection of British vehicles. This purchase underlines the importance of Jaguar Land Rover's own brand history.
For many years, James Hull primarily collected British cars, including particularly rare vehicles such as the Jaguar XKSS and various C-, D- and E-Types.
The painstakingly assembled collection includes over 130 Jaguar models, from the early Swallow Sidecars and the Swallow-bodied Austin Seven to the better-known pre- and post-war Jaguar models.
But it is also the 30 or so classic saloons from the fifties and sixties as well as the 19 XJS and 20 XJ models that have interesting stories to tell.
According to James Hull, it was not important to maximize the sales price, but to ensure that the collection would be well looked after in the future.
Active use
The acquired vehicles are to be used actively, for example at vehicle launches and other brand promotion events.
