Generazione 70 founder and car enthusiast Raffaele Porfido has once again opened up his archive. The idea of combining modern sex appeal with Italian classics in authentic locations has already generated a lot of interest among fans in recent years. More was in demand.
The third Generazione 70 calendar once again spans the arc between Italian car classics and female attractiveness against an urban backdrop.
Raffaele Porfido's love of Italian classics was awakened as a child. He was constantly attached to his father's overalls and watched him excitedly as he repaired vehicles, mainly Alfa Romeo and Fiat. At the age of eight, Raffaele received his first model kit and his passion for tinkering with cars himself was awakened.
In 1998, his father bequeathed him a Fiat 128, and he taught himself how to restore the bodywork, mechanics and interior in small steps. The Fiat 128 was the start of a collection: Raffaele Porfido's treasures today include a Fiat 126 Bambino, a Fiat 127, a Fiat 127 Fiorino as well as an Alfa Romeo GT Junior, Alfa Romeo Montreal and an Alfa Romeo Giulia Super.
Urbanstyle in large format
Back to his vision: images of a modern lifestyle in a real, urban environment appeared in Raffaele's mind's eye. His collection of vintage and classic cars, some restored in an Urbanstyle, were to merge with feminine, modern expressiveness. The locations were just as important. For years, he meticulously searched for cool hotspots that matched his car collection. Model, car and location should be in harmony.
To achieve maximum authenticity, he even approached girls in Zurich's nightlife scene and used his large network. With the spontaneous acceptance of numerous casual models, he came ever closer to his goal.
Photographers who were enthusiastic about his project were also soon involved. Together they worked out the storyboard, determined outfits and poses. The locations were selected, the permits obtained and the restoration work on his Alfas and Fiats continued in parallel.
In spring 2016, Raffaele Porfido set off with his classic collection, the girls and the photographers to the first locations: the starting signal for a Swiss calendar production. The first Generazione 70 calendar for 2017 went on sale in October 2016. Production and demand were high enough to produce another calendar in the following two years - and therefore also for 2019.
