Along with Jo Siffert and Clay Regazzoni, racing driver Herbert Müller (May 11, 1940 - May 24, 1981) is one of the most important Swiss racing drivers of all time. He made himself immortal with victories in the Targa Florio in 1966 and 1973, followed by many racing and sports car victories, including two second places in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970 and 1974.
Herbert Müller lived in Reinach/AG. The annual Memorial Day (anniversary of his tragic death) is held in his memory at Forellensee in Zweisimmen/BE, surrounded by nature, and celebrated with fans, friends and companions. The event is organized by Herbert's son Daniel, owner of Forellensee Gstaad-Zweisimmen. On this day, "Stumpen-Herbie", as he was known to friends and fans, will be celebrated and his memory honored.
