The 25th Retro Classics, one of the oldest classic car fairs in Germany after Techno-Classica, will take place in Stuttgart from February 19 to 22.
To mark its 25th anniversary, Retro Classics will be presenting a tribute to one of the greatest personalities in German motorsport from February 19 to 22, 2026: Hans Herrmann. In the central atrium of the trade fair, visitors will have the opportunity to relive important stages of his life's work on 650 square meters.
At the same time, it will be exciting to see whether young petrolheads will be inspired by the great passion of such a racing legend.
In addition to the "Raceborn - 75 Years of Porsche Motorsport" exhibition, Zwischengas and its partners will also be present in Hall 1 this year, exhibiting a special vehicle at stand E17: An Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 from 1931. Only 188 of this racing legend were built, which made it noticeably rarer in its day than a Ferrari F40 is today.
This 8C of the Scuderia Ferrari stood for racing successes in LeMans, the Mille Miglia and the Targa Florio and is kindly made available to us from the worldwide outstanding collection "Nationales Automuseum The Loh Collection", which is always worth a visit in the middle of Germany.
In the same era, it was the Berlin watch manufacturer Löbner, founded in 1862, that revolutionized motorsport timekeeping. For example, a "Löbner" stopped Rudolf Caracciola's legendary speed record in 1938 - 432.7 km/h in the Mercedes-Benz V12 record-breaking car (W125) - as well as the famous Avus races. Today, the "Steelracer" watch model brings the spirit of the early years of motorsport into the present. At the Zwischengas stand, the special model "Steelracer Speed Arrow" can be admired and - for those who are quick to make up their minds - perhaps purchased at a special trade fair price.
An Aston Martin V8 Volante from 1982 also adorns the Zwischengas stand, provided by Emil Frey Classics. This is one of only 39 Volante models produced in 1982. Prince Charles also came to appreciate a V8 Volante somewhat later - although he had some spoilers removed to make it look just as elegant as this earlier model. The example shown was in California for a long time before it was returned to its homeland and later brought to Switzerland from England by Emil Frey Classics AG and restored to excellent condition.
Test drive a classic car - or find your own dream model
Anyone who doesn't yet know exactly which classic or vintage car would suit them or would like to realize a lifelong dream can now get into the driver's seat. Or perhaps your son, grandchild or godchild? Together with Retro Promotion Stuttgart, Zwischengas is supporting the first "RETRO EXPERIENCE DRIVE", i.e. classic and vintage car rides for young and young-at-heart self-drivers, on April 18 and June 20, 2026 in the Stuttgart area. A route through idyllic landscapes is organized, including insurance, technical support, fuel and much more. All at a fair price; more information is also available at the Zwischengas stand or directly from Karl Ulrich Herrmann by email
Zwischengas and its partners are looking forward to your visit in Hall 1 / Stand E17 and recommend you further news about the program of this year's Retro Classics Stuttgart.
