The entry list for the Group B Rally Legends promises a motorsport festival of the highest quality.
Almost 100 starters from all over the world have confirmed their attendance at the Group B Rally Legends on July 10 and 11 in and around Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer. The focus of the selected entries is not on one time period or vehicle group. It will be a cross-section of rally sport from the last four decades, with some very special and rare exhibits.
Colorful mix of rally sports cars
The spectrum ranges from Group 2 cars, such as the legendary Ford Escort, or "humpback" Volvos to extremely rare Group B cars such as the Skoda MTX 160 RS, which was only built three times. The famous "Italian character", which has characterized rallying for decades, will also be making a comeback. Lancia Delta Integrale, Alfa Sud, Lancia 037, Ferrari 308 GTB and of course the legendary Fiat 131 Abarth will make the hearts of motorsport enthusiasts beat faster.
Many original factory cars
In addition, numerous original works cars, such as Norbert Henglein's Lancia 037 (Attilio Bettega's ex-works car), a BMW M3 driven by none other than Belgian Patrick Snijers, the last Lancia Delta Integrale built and, of course, the exhibits from the fahr(t)raum exhibition, which are driven by Ernst Piëch himself, provide moments steeped in history.
Porsche is also part of the party
A whole armada of Porsche cars will also give you goosebumps before the Group B cars and the two World Rally Cars impressively show off their martial engine power.
Walter Mayer, Audi test driver in the years 1981 - 1985, is also full of anticipation: "The last time I sat in such a monster was in 1985 and I am therefore looking forward to the car from Rallyemanufaktur. It will certainly be a reminder of a wonderful time."
Interesting program
About the program: The rally will take place in and around the picturesque town of Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer in Pinzgau in Austria and the neighbouring communities of Weissbach bei Lofer, Maishofen and at the ÖAMTC driving technology center Gut Brandlhof.
