The main theme of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which will take place from June 26 to 29, 2014, is the unbeatable champions of motor sport. In English, this sounds even better with the addition: "Addicted to winning - the unbeatable champions of motor sport".
Examples include Bentley, the Silver Arrows, Juan Manuel Fangio, Jim Clark, Lotus, Porsche (16 times winner at Le Mans) and Sebastian Loeb. There are also motorcycle racers and motorcycle brands.
In addition, 100 years of Maserati will be celebrated in the form of legendary racing cars and as a separate class in the Concours d'Elégance.
2014 also marks the 100th anniversary of the 1914 French Grand Prix. The GP was won by Mercedes Benz. The same brand was also very successful in 1934 and 1954, all milestone birthdays.
The festival will also celebrate 60 years of the Jaguar D Type, 50 years of the Mini winning the Monte Carlo Rally and 40 years since the first world championship crown for McLaren.
As every year, the festival will be a spectacle for young and old, covering everything from the first motor vehicles to modern supercars.
