Gooding Christie's is pleased to announce the signing of a multi-year partnership with the Paris classic car show Rétromobile. On the occasion of the 50th Rétromobile (January 28 to February 1, 2026), Gooding Chistie's will conduct the official auction at the show at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. From 19 to 22 November 2026, Rétromobile will also organize a new classic car fair at the Javits Center in New York, with Gooding Christie's on board as auctioneer.
"We are proud to announce our first European auction as Gooding Christie's, and there is no better event than the famous Salon Rétromobile to do so. For 50 years, Rétromobile has been a vibrant marketplace where the most important collectors and dealers offer the most important vehicles," said David Gooding, President of Gooding Christie's. "We look forward to being at the center of the show as an auction."
"The Rétromobile team puts on a wonderful event for the global automotive community in the heart of Paris, and we couldn't be more excited about our new partnership as an official auction house," said Francis Belin, President of Christie's Asia Pacific, who also oversees the global luxury portfolio of activities. "In addition to the Paris event, the New York edition provides a spectacular venue for our new North American auction and represents the next step in growth and expansion for Gooding Christie's in the international collector car market."
"During my travels in the United States, I had the opportunity to attend several auctions organized by David Gooding and his team. The quality of the collections on display was simply exceptional," said Romain Grabowski, Director of Rétromobile. "It is this expertise, these values and the reputation of this auction house that attracted us, as well as the international reach and expertise of Christie's in the world of art and luxury goods. There is no doubt that this new collaboration will be one of the highlights of our 50th edition."
"Who better than Gooding Christie's to conduct the auction at the new Rétromobile New York show? With David Gooding as a globally recognized expert in the classic car market and the prestige and heritage of the Christie's name," said Gérard Neveu, Director of Rétromobile New York. "With this new partnership, and for the ultimate pleasure and benefit of American car collectors and all our future visitors, Rétromobile New York has once again obtained the best possible means to prepare an exceptional event in Manhattan from November 19 to 22, 2026."
