What would the world and especially Germany be without cars? The photographs of the development of the Beetle, the triumph of Porsche, Grace Kelly's wedding in a Rolls Royce, but also the first camping experiences in Italy or the steaming Opel on the Brenner Pass also convey our own experiences and bring them back to life. They also tell the story of our economic miracle - and how the world has developed in other ways.
Whether film actors or bands, celebrities or the baker around the corner, for everyone the car was and still is a necessity, a status symbol, a sport or a hobby. In the exhibition you can smile and sometimes laugh out loud, the memories catch up with the viewer. What a wonderful, diverse and still current story - a love story!
In 150 photographs from 70 years, the exhibition at the Fabrik der Künste in Hamburg shows what has cost nerves and money on the car, but above all what has also been fun.
