Roger Federer is probably the most famous Swiss sportsman of our time. And he obviously has a thing for fast neoclassic cars. However, the Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series was of course a new car when Roger received it in 2009.
In the same year, Federer also won the Grand Slam for the four major tennis tournaments he had won. Did he have much time left to drive?
In any case, the CLK will now go under the hammer at the Bonhams auction in Bonmont, near Geneva, on July 20, 2021. The estimated value is CHF 150,000 to 200,000.
This is just one of several cars that have already been named. Another flagship is certainly the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso from 1963, which was once delivered new to Switzerland and will now be offered for CHF 1.35 to 1.95 million.
Two Bugatti cars, a Type 57 C from 1939 with an Aravis convertible body and a Type 49 from 1933, are also likely to generate a lot of interest.
Also registered are an Aston Martin V8 from 1979 as a convertible and a Jaguar XK140 DHC from 1954.
And interested parties should also be able to find a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III Drophead Coupé from 1965 with bodywork by H J Mulliner Park Ward Ltd.
The lot list is constantly being updated. You can read more about the cars and the entire offer on the Bonhams website.
