On Wednesday, March 26, 2014, FIVA initiated a major survey in 15 countries of the European Union at the Techno Classica in Essen. The last major survey was conducted around eight years ago.
More data needed
In order to better represent the interests of classic car owners and drivers to the institutions of the European Union (such as the European Parliament) and the politicians of the individual countries, precise data is needed on the importance of classic cars in society and their significance for the economy.
The three pillars of the classic car ecosystem are surveyed: owners, clubs and product/service providers.
Broad-based and professionally conducted
FIVA works together with the well-known market research company GfK for this purpose. This ensures that all your answers remain anonymous and your privacy is fully protected. The involvement of scientific experts ensures that the data can be collected and used in the most meaningful way possible.
Survey of owners
Owners of historic vehicles (older than 30 years) or of young classic cars (between 25 and 30 years old, also known as "youngtimers") are addressed.
The aim of the survey is to ensure that the passion for historic vehicles can be lived out now and in the future, not only in the garage but also on public roads. It is therefore in the interests of the classic car community to take part in this survey!
There is a specific link for each country, which is of course visible on the FIVA website. For Germany - where participants can win a book voucher with a bit of luck - the survey starts here, for Austria here.
Switzerland is not included in this survey as it is not part of the EU.
Participation is open until June 2, 2014 and the results will be published in the fall.
