Many car fans have been waiting for this news: The Essen Motor Show will also take place in 2020, an event year characterized by challenges. From November 28 to December 6 (Preview Day: November 27), more than 300 exhibitors will present sports cars, tuning & lifestyle, motorsports and classic cars. Following the successful re-launch of the German trade fair sector, the industry and scene are gathering momentum towards Essen.
A visit is worthwhile, even if the Essen Motor Show is only taking place this year as a "limited edition" with some of the usual exhibitors due to the consequences of the pandemic. Otherwise, the motto is: Keep your distance, put on your mask - and head into the exhibition halls.
An exciting trade fair despite difficult circumstances
"We are very pleased that we have succeeded in creating a viable concept for this year's Essen Motor Show. The past few weeks have shown that even large trade fairs can be held successfully under the current difficult conditions. The decisive factor is a functioning hygiene concept, and we have proven this," says Oliver P. Kuhrt, Managing Director of Messe Essen. "The appearance of the halls will be compact and focused. With a few exceptions, it will be a pure car show with the vehicles taking center stage," adds Ralf Sawatzki, Project Manager of the Essen Motor Show.
Tickets are only available to a limited extent and exclusively online
The hygiene concept of Messe Essen was decisive for the participation of many exhibitors. Among other things, this provides for minimum distances, a mask requirement and increased opportunities for disinfecting and washing hands. This year, tickets are only available online and after registering on the trade fair website.
Advance sales start in October and the ticket is only valid on the booked day of the trade fair. This means: make a note of the day in your diary. As the number of visitors is limited to 9,000 per day, it pays to be quick. Messe Essen's hygiene concept is based on the currently valid requirements in North Rhine-Westphalia, which have already been successfully applied at large public trade fairs.
