After last year's successful premiere, the Emil Frey Classics Drive will continue from June 22 to 26, 2020. Passing fields of lavender in bloom, impressive rivers and deep gorges, the multi-day drive will take you along some of the most beautiful routes France has to offer.
The highlight: no hotel change, no suitcase packing! Once you arrive at your destination, you only pack your bags again when it's time to go home. After an eventful day, you always return to the Hotel La Coquillade in the evening.
A maximum of 25 vehicles can take part in this stylish pleasure trip, so you need to register quickly. The rule is "first come, first serve"!
The preliminary program is as follows:
Monday, June 22, 2020: In the footsteps of Napoleon
For the official start, participants will meet on Monday, June 22 at 9 am at the beautiful Château de Candie in Chambéry. The château offers a breathtaking view of the Chartreuse mountain range. The drivers' briefing will take place in the heart of a six-hectare park with centuries-old trees and fountains. It is of course possible to arrive the day before (for an extra charge).
After a scenic drive along part of the Route Napoléon with fantastic views, the group will have lunch at the gourmet restaurant of the Hôtel de la Poste in Corps, where refined and inspired cuisine can be enjoyed on the elegant terrace.
The tour then continues to Gargas to the Hotel La Coquillade.
In addition to breathtaking views, participants can look forward to romantic rooms, a 1500-square-metre spa and a gourmet restaurant. After checking in, there will be an aperitif by the pool, where wines from the Aureto vineyard will be served. This is followed by dinner with a fantastic view of the surrounding vineyards.
Tuesday, June 23, 2020: in the direction of the sea
After breakfast, a discovery tour through the Camargue, which exudes a mystical magic, begins in the early summer morning. The route leads towards Cavaillon, the town known as the home of the Cavaillon melon. A little later, we reach Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône to enjoy lunch at the Découvrez restaurant. Seafood lovers will get their money's worth here.
The rest of the stage then leads back to the event hotel in Gargas, where you can relax in the spa or explore the area by bike. In the evening, the hotel's own restaurant welcomes you to a culinary pampering dinner. All the senses will be awakened during this indulgent experience.
Wednesday, June 24, 2020: The royal stage to Mont Ventoux
The third day begins with a ride to the almost 2000-metre-high Mont Ventoux, the classic of the Tour de France. The dominant "mountain of the winds" is home to over a thousand plant species and a hundred bird species.
To protect the unique natural landscape, Mont Ventoux was declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1994. The lunch break takes place en route at the Domaine de Cabasse restaurant in Séguret, where you can also sample fine wines from the cellar.
After refreshments, the tour continues towards Sault, the lavender capital. At the local lavender distillery, the participants are introduced to the history of this plant and can immerse themselves in the realm of fragrances. After an eventful day, another gourmet experience in the hotel's own restaurant is on the agenda for the evening.
Thursday, June 25, 2020 - Verdon Gorge, the Grand Canyon of France
After a hearty breakfast, the route leads to Verdon, where you can visit the Verdon Gorge, also known as the Grand Canyon of France. It offers unforgettable views and insights. Winding mountain roads run along both sides of the Verdon Gorge - perfect for classic cars.
The lunch break is enjoyed at La Bastide de Tourtour, where the gourmets come together. The delicious gourmet cuisine is fresh and tasty. The sommelier selects award-winning wines to go with the food.
After a leisurely drive back, the participants meet for a farewell dinner in the hotel's own restaurant Les Vignes with its beautiful garden. The Provençal flavors can be discovered while enjoying the breathtaking view of the vineyards. This year's Emil Frey Classics Drive comes to an end in this romantic setting. After a delicious breakfast on June 26, 2020, the journey home begins.
This fascinating journey is exclusively limited to 25 vehicles. Early registration is therefore recommended.
