On August 24, 2024, Emil Frey Classics will hold its first vintage and classic car auction in Safenwil. Zwischengas spoke to Claudia Stiller from Emil Frey Classic Auctions to find out what we can expect.
Initially, two auctions a year are planned. A classic car auction (up to 1972) in the summer and a youngtimer auction (from 1972) in the spring. Motorcycles from the respective era are also to be auctioned in each auction.
The new format was deliberately chosen this year because it marks the 100th anniversary of Emil Frey AG. "And this is a great time not only to celebrate tradition and the expertise we have accumulated over the years, but also to launch something new like Emil Frey Classic Auctions. After all, this auction format also honors and appreciates the testimonies of the past," explains Claudia Stiller. The large customer base of the Emil Frey Group, which has grown over many years, is also in mind and would like to be offered something new for the anniversary: as buyers who would like to fulfill a long-cherished dream or as sellers who would like to realign their collection.
One of 50
Around 50 carefully selected vehicles will be auctioned off. An Austin-Healey 100 S, of which just 50 were built in 1955, is sure to arouse great desire. Few vehicles have survived to this day and are mostly painted blue and white - as is the example on offer here. This example (chassis number AHS 3608) found its way from England via San Francisco to Switzerland and was previously extensively restored by Austin-Healey specialist Tom Kovacs ("Fourintune") in the late 1980s. The vehicle is Mille Miglia-registered and also took part in its modern-day version in 2006 - presumably with a good chance of being re-registered for the buyer.
This Austin-Healey 100 S will be auctioned on August 24, 2024. If you are interested in the auction, please contact Emil Frey Classic Auctions (see below). Bids can also be placed by telephone after prior registration.
If you are currently on the seller's side and own a special British or an exciting mainland vehicle, you should hurry up. There are only a dozen or so lots still available until the end of May, when the maximum number of 50 vehicles will be reached. The final auction catalog will be produced in mid-June and will be available shortly afterwards.
