The team at the start-up company Morris Commercial is working on the development of a new interpretation of the Morris J. However, this is not intended to be a simple replica, but an electrified new version. The aim is to make a contribution to a more environmentally conscious future.

Morris Commercial, a young company involved in the development and manufacture of automobiles, will soon be presenting the breathtaking Morris JE. The Morris JE is an electrified reinterpretation of the well-known icon Morris J. Based on the latest state-of-the-art technology - lithium-ion batteries - the Morris JE is conceived as a premium product designed for both business and purely private driving pleasure and is no less ambitious. The beautiful styling and excellent functionality round off the Morris JE as a premium product. The combination of a lightweight chassis and an all-carbon body also make the Morris JE a real lightweight.
The history of the original Morris J
For years, the Morris J-Type was regarded as the ultimate in British vans. It was first presented at the Earls Court Motor Show in London in 1948. Its popularity was due in part to its appealing styling and pioneering balance between carrying capacity and corresponding floor space.
The van became internationally known through its numerous exports. Even today, vans are still used worldwide, for example to deliver food.
Bridge between past and present, or future
Back in the present, the start-up company was able to secure the naming rights to Morris Commercial and thus make the vision of launching an electrified version of the Morris J on the market a reality.
The JE builds on the original design of the Morris J and transfers it to a new contemporary model. The JE is by no means a replica, even though it largely adopts the DNA and qualities of its OIdtimer role model and blends them with the company's environmentally friendly philosophy.
