Who says young people are no longer interested in historic cars?
The RAID Young Raiders' Challenge, a rally held by the RAID organization for the first time two years ago exclusively for young drivers up to and including the age of 35, is certainly attracting a lot of interest. The third edition has barely been launched and there are already over 50 registrations - and the entry deadline is only at the end of March!
This shows that some of our young people are still fascinated by historic cars. This confirms the trend that was already clearly evident at the first two editions of the event.
Tradition is worth something
Despite the latest technologies that shape the lives of the younger generation in particular, the historical origins of many everyday technical goods are of interest - and the automobile is no exception.
The third Young Raiders' Challenge will take place on May 4 and 5 and will take participants through some of the most beautiful - and for many certainly unknown - areas of Switzerland. This discovery of the homeland is part of the overall concept of this unique event.
Start in Safenwil for the first time
The start will be at the Emil Frey Classics Center in Safenwil. This institution, which is dedicated to automotive culture and history, is unique. And not only in Switzerland. The facility, which is housed in carefully restored factory premises from the beginning of the 20th century, provides the ideal setting for the start of these classic cars driven by young enthusiasts.
Subaru at the start
The focus is on the Subaru brand, which has been imported into Switzerland by the Emil Frey Group for 40 years and was launched by skiing ace Bernhard Russi as a brand ambassador, as we would say today. The Japanese brand has had a decisive influence on the popularity of 4x4 vehicles, particularly in Switzerland. And even today, with over 350,000 Subaru sold in Switzerland, Russi still fulfills this role with great commitment.
Will he be there at the start?
