Four years ago, Christoph Lehmann and a small team initiated a new type of meeting called Dolder Classics at the Dolder ice rink on the Zürichberg above Zurich. The fact that the uncomplicated meetings he offers - you don't have to register or deregister, only the car (or motorcycle) should be of vintage age - are popular was demonstrated by the consistently large number of visitors to past events.
Demonstrating the popularity of classic cars
Around 200 to 400 classic cars find their way onto the drained ice field each year. The free visit to the outdoor pool for the crews of the classic cars is popular with families, weather permitting.
Informal petrolhead conversations can be held and the little treasure can be shown off. The great public interest shows that the old cars have many friends, especially in the Zurich area.
More brand clubs wanted
In 2014, Lehmann would also like to attract more brand clubs to the Zürichberg. Switzerland has a rich club scene and the Dolder meeting makes it possible to organize club meetings with little effort because all the logistics are already in place.
Motorcycles too
Christoph Lehmann is also a big motorcycle fan and would also like to see vintage motorcycles on the Dolder ice rink. In his view, cars and motorcycles from the good old days belong together, and old iron should stick together, he said in a recently published interview.
2014 with a small fee for the first time
For the first time in 2014, participants with classic cars will be charged a fee of CHF 5.00 to cover running costs. Annual badges with collector status or a beautifully designed rally badge can also be purchased on site. The welcome desk on site will provide information about the options.
Four times and once with an auction

The DolderClassics usually takes place from 09.00 to 16.00 every 2nd Sunday in the season from May to September (except July due to the Live at sunset Festival).
On August 20, 2014, the already well-established Zurich Classic Car Award will also take place again on Bürkliplatz in the heart of Zurich.
