'Days of Elegance' to be the new luxury car event in the Netherlands!
On Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19, 2022, the first edition of the 'InterClassics Days of Elegance' will take place at the Chateau St. Gerlach estate in Valkenburg near Maastricht. This new event, organized by the automotive team of MECC Maastricht, is set to become the most luxurious car event in the Netherlands. The new event will run independently of the annual classic car fairs InterClassics Maastricht at MECC Maastricht and InterClassics Brussels on the grounds of Brussels Expo.
Erik Panis, the manager of InterClassics, explains: "By working together with our partners, we as organizers can present a high-quality event with an international format. Together we are striving to become the most exclusive car event in the Netherlands. Participants and visitors will be able to enjoy the hospitality of the lively south of the Netherlands while admiring unique cars and luxury lifestyle products. Nothing will be left to chance in order to present an event at the highest level."
The organizers of InterClassics are thus taking the first step in their long-term strategy of placing 'InterClassics' as a strong brand in the automotive world in a broader context than that of classic car fairs. Various new automobile events are part of the strategy. The organizers will soon announce further new initiatives to be held in addition to InterClassics Brussels in November 2021, InterClassics Maastricht in January 2022 and InterClassics Days of Elegance in June 2022.
Program of the 'InterClassics Days of Elegance'
On Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19, 2022, the most exclusive classic cars will be presented in various categories and judged by an internationally renowned jury at the 'Concours of Elegance'. On Saturday, owners of classic cars and modern supercars can take part in a sporty Classic Rally & GT Rally through the Limburg hills and the Belgian and German countryside. The starting point and finish is Chateau Neercanne. The day will end with the 'Night of Elegance' gala evening at Chateau St. Gerlach. Throughout the weekend, the most beautiful and exclusive lifestyle products and new exclusive automobiles will be on offer, the classics of the future, presented among the works of art in the park of Chateau St. Gerlach. Renowned classic car dealers will also be offering the highlights of their collections. The catering team from Les Salons, Chateau St. Gerlach's restaurant, will be treating everyone to culinary delights based on regional produce harvested from the estate's garden.
Location Chateau St. Gerlach In the 12th century, the hermit Gerlachus withdrew to the Geul valley to pray and make regular pilgrimages to the grave of St. Servatius of Maastricht. After his death and canonization, his own grave became a place of pilgrimage and a monastery with a monastery church was built there. Almost 1000 years later, Chateau St. Gerlach serves as a hotel and restaurant and is part of the renowned Relais & Chateaux group. The American President George W. Bush and the Rolling Stones have already been guests here. The grandeur of the Kasteel, surrounded by old outbuildings, extensive parks, gardens and a vineyard, will form the backdrop for the first edition of the InterClassics Days of Elegance on June 18 and 19, 2022.
