It's finally back: the Zwischengas annual magazine to enjoy, give and collect. Until the classic cars are allowed out into the fresh air again in spring, nobody has to miss out on good entertainment. The pre-ordered issues have already been sent out - anyone who has not yet secured their copy can order here (while stocks last).
The Zwischengas annual magazine has been around for ten years now. The recipe? A colorful mix of vehicle portraits, racing stories, auction reviews and much more. As always, the best Zwischengas articles of the year were selected, but many - almost the majority - were also produced especially for the annual magazine. The elaborately researched texts are illustrated with breathtaking photos and some rare archive images.
This year, the magazine is dedicated to the topic of "from sports car to hypercar". The story begins at the very beginning, when all cars were sports cars - because driving was not an everyday necessity back then.
The chicken or the egg
What came first? There are sports cars that are descended from racing cars and racing cars that are descended from sports cars. The annual magazine looks at three Ford GT40/GT generations to find the answer to the question of which is better.
Fraternal twins
A Lexus LFA and a Toyota 200 GT were taken to a photo shoot for the annual magazine - two cars that are miles apart at first glance. After all, the two are separated by over 40 years and 400 hp. At second glance, however, they have more in common than you might think...
Hidden treasures
There are things that were once lost and were found again by a lucky coincidence. We know the example of wedding rings on a sandy beach. Others were deliberately buried on the beach, including entire cars. But the fact that a former record-breaking car was not only dug up after 42 years, but also made roadworthy, borders on a miracle - just like a recovered wedding ring.
Give me four!
Between 1984 and 1986, Audi built 214 Sport quattro, which were designed as the basis for rallying. While the cars sold relatively poorly at the time, prices have risen steadily since then, leaving every other Audi behind.
Flying carpet
Citroën scored points in the 1970s with driving comfort and extravagance. The CX was not a successor to the DS, but it fulfilled the function of the Grande Routi`re in a contemporary way. The later endurance runner made its debut in August 1974 and was built until 1989. We drove one of the first series.
"One more Thing*
Certain things are unforgettable. For example, encounters with Bugatti cars - whether they are classic Bugatti cars or more recent ones. Daniel Reinhard experienced one such encounter with the Bugatti Veyron.
And much more
Of course, we also include reviews of the most important trade fairs, races and councours. The calendar also offers a comprehensive outlook for next year, when it's time to "Start the engines!"
In short, the 260-page annual magazine contains almost everything a classic car enthusiast could wish for: three portraits of people, four retrospectives and, above all, 18 detailed vehicle reports. At CHF/EUR 16.90, this comprehensive publication remains reasonably priced. And of course it makes a perfect Christmas present.
