The Citroën collection has to leave its current home in Aulnay-sous-Bois. As no new solution is yet available, the collection will no longer be open to the public for several years.
However, a new Citroën museum is currently planned to open within four years.
The director of the association "L'Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS" has issued the following statement:
"Dear friends,
The Citroën & DS Conservatoire of the association "L'Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS", which brings together the world's largest collection of vehicles and documents relating to the history of the two brands, will be relocating in the next few months.
The conservatory is currently located on the former site of the d'Aulnay-sous-Bois factory, which was sold to the Establissement Public Foncier d'Ile de France in 2017. Due to the expiry of the lease, the Conservatoire will no longer be open to the public from June 30, 2024. The space currently occupied by the Conservatoire will be redeveloped to accommodate new activities in this employment area located north of Paris.
This move is an opportunity to accelerate the realization of a project already in the pipeline and very dear to the hearts of Citroën brand enthusiasts. It aims to make the exceptional content of this Conservatoire accessible to a much wider public.
The project will take around three or four years of work, during which the collection will be housed in a secure location to ensure both the good preservation of the vehicles and access for presentation and study purposes, particularly for the curators working on the project for this future Citroën museum.
