The SS Jaguar 1.5 Litre pictured here is a special piece of English automotive history. It was built in 1936 by S.S. Cars Limited, the company that adopted the model suffix Jaguar as its company name from spring 1945.
Elegant and compact
While the exterior shape reflects typical stylistic elements of this era, the compactness of the car is surprising at second glance. Compared to other models of the time, the 1.5-liter four-cylinder Saloon appears extremely compact. The advantages of these manageable dimensions are evident today: the SS Jaguar appears easy to handle and can easily keep up with today's traffic with its four-cylinder engine. In particular, the changeover to right-hand drive, which is unusual for our circumstances, is easy.

The interior should also be as original and well-preserved as possible, with particular attention paid to the leather and wood. When looking at the underbody, you should also take a close look at the wooden frame of the bodywork. Only the 1938 SS Jaguar has an all-steel body. After such a long time, the engines may show signs of damage or mechanical wear.
