Beauties belong on the catwalk. The world's most exclusive show for outstanding historic vehicles is the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in a dream location on Lake Como. As the organizer of this unique Concours, BMW Group Classic continues its more than twenty-year partnership with the Grand Hotel Villa d'Este with passion and great commitment.
In order to always offer an event format that is appropriate to the times and circumstances, the organizer, in close consultation with the Grand Hotel Villa d'Este, constantly rethinks the scope of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. For this reason, the Concorso di Motociclette will continue to be suspended.
Cozy with a white sausage
For the general public, a new and unique facet will be integrated into the weekend in Cernobbio:
BMW Group Classic is looking forward to inviting the public to "Wheels & Weisswürscht Lake Como" at Villa Erba on Sunday, May 22. The new event on the grounds within walking distance of the Villa d'Este will be held in a deliberately relaxed atmosphere under the motto "Casually Celebrating Cars". With a Bavarian touch from the organizer's homeland, "Wheels & Weisswürscht Lake Como" welcomes international BMW, Mini and automobile clubs from all brands.
On the grounds of Villa Erba, many automobile enthusiasts will make their treasures accessible to visitors. A separate area will be reserved for the automotive star guests from BMW M history. Among the guests will be three of the legendary BMW M Ring cabs from the Nürburgring.
Seven classes
At the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2022, around fifty automotive beauties from almost one hundred years of vehicle history will be presented in seven classes, whose names reflect the anniversaries and superlatives of this year's competition:

Anniversary celebration BMW Motorsport GmbH
BMW Motorsport GmbH was founded 50 years ago as a subsidiary of BMW AG. Known as BMW M GmbH since 1993 and long since legendary, BMW M looks back on an impressive history of racing cars and high-performance vehicles.
At this year's Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, this will be documented and honored with its own "50 Years of Mean Machinery - BMW's M Cars and their Ancestors" class.
50 years of BMW M - this is also the reason why many BMW Group Classic collection vehicles representing this history will be brought to Lake Como for exhibition purposes in May. Historic BMW racing cars will be represented as well as BMW M production cars, but also absolute historic eye-catchers from the BMW 7 Series.
Modernity too
With the presentation of historic and current collection vehicles, BMW Group Classic is building bridges between the past, present and future of mobility. The Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2022 will focus on the highest levels of luxury, elegance and sportiness.
Two premieres of exceptional BMW automobiles will look to the future: the eagerly awaited BMW M4 CSL will make its global debut at the Concorso d'Eleganza, while the new BMW i7 - the first all-electric BMW 7 Series - will make its Concorso d'Eleganza debut.
BMW Motorrad will present a special anniversary edition based on the radical M 1000 RR super sports bike, which will make its debut together with the BMW M4 CSL.
Another highlight is the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail. Over a four-year project period, three highly unique automobiles have been designed for individual Rolls-Royce customers. The next chapter of the Boat Tail will be presented at this year's Concorso d'Eleganza.
Ferrari honored with its own class
The 75th anniversary of the Italian car manufacturer Ferrari will also be honored with its own competition category: the extraordinary history of the brand will be brought to life in the class "The Cavallino at 75: Eight Decades of Ferrari Represented in Eight Icons".
2022 is a very special year for the iconic Villa d'Este. Originally designed as a private residence for Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio in the 16th century as a palace and transformed into one of the finest hotels in the world in 1873, Villa d'Este celebrates its 150th hotel season this year. It's impossible not to be drawn into the quiet glamor and history of Villa d'Este, as the grande dame has hosted some of the biggest names in cinema, art, literature, politics and business over the past 150 seasons. The legendary hotel has stood the test of time and evolved elegantly. This anniversary year will honor the traditions for which the Villa d'Este is famous and revered, while celebrating the continuous innovations that confirm the hotel as an evolving icon within the industry.
This anniversary deserves its own Concorso d'Eleganza vehicle class: "Celebrating 150 Seasons at Villa d'Este: How grand entrances were once made." presents vehicles that have gone down in the annals of the Concours as winners of the Coppa d'Oro Villa d'Este or the "Best of Show" trophy since the first edition in 1929.
Many other program items
The traditional Prelude Tour begins for the first time in nearby Milan. The vehicles can also be admired by everyone at various locations in the center of Milan.
The big vehicle parade of all participants will take place on Saturday in the usual setting. On this day, the exclusive "Coppa d'Oro Villa d'Este" will be awarded to the most beautiful car by public vote. The weekend will culminate on Sunday, when the best-placed participating vehicles and concept cars will be exhibited on the grounds of the Villa d'Este and the class winners will be honored.
