Varignana is located in the heart of the Italian Motor Valley, south-east of Bologna. At the Concorso d'Eleganza there, a total of 23 classic cars built before 1973 were carefully evaluated by a distinguished jury of experts. An Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 S Berlinetta Touring from 1939 received the prestigious "Best of Show" award at the premiere of the Concorso d'Eleganza Varignana 1705. The beauty contest took place for the first time on October 16, 2023.
The black Alfa Romeo made the biggest impression on the red carpet in front of the Palazzo di Varignana. Remarkable: It is already the three hundredth prize that the well-known collector and owner of the Alfa Romeo 6C, Corrado Lopresto, has received.
The high-caliber jury headed by Stefano Pasini, President and renowned author of more than 30 automotive books, highlighted the incomparable design of the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 S Berlinetta Touring, which also stood out for its rich history and careful restoration.
For example, the Alfa Romeo has its original registration certificate and license plate, which refer to former illustrious owners such as Prince Caetani. The car took first place among the 23 carefully selected vehicles from all over the world.
The Concorso d'Eleganza was crowned by an exclusive dinner in the elegant halls of Palazzo Bentivoglio.
Corrado Lopresto was deeply moved: "Winning 'Best in Show' is everyone's dream. I am delighted to have taken part in the first edition of an event that I hope will become a trademark in the international elegance competition season."
