Messe Friedrichshafen has been back on the event trail since July 2021 and has been bringing together a wide range of industries at events ever since. Division Director Roland Bosch is also optimistic about the future for the classic car segment: "People want to meet up again and the focus on tradition is stronger than ever before. We are delighted that we will be bringing the good old days back to life in Friedrichshafen in 2022 at Motorworld Classics Bodensee. Exhibitors, club members and all die-hard classic car fans should mark the date of May 6 to 8, 2022 very clearly in their calendars."
The cohesion of the classic car community is very important to him. "Even more than before, everyone who has dedicated themselves to classic cars must stand behind the cultural asset of historic mobility as a strong community. We want to continue to marvel at our beautiful vehicles on the roads and not just in museums."
The project team will be accepting registrations from exhibitors, clubs, vehicle sellers and those interested in the classic car parts market until the end of January 2022. Visitors will therefore be able to experience the entire range of motorized classics and rolling contemporary witnesses next spring. The supporting program for the three days of the trade fair will be full of curves and variety.
Frank Wilke, Managing Director of the Bochum-based valuation company Classic Car Analytics, considers the current market situation for classic car transactions to be promising: "Buying classic cars is a matter of mood and the current mood on the classic car market is surprisingly good - in almost all market segments. The pandemic-related period of uncertainty from spring to summer last year is long gone. The bottom line is that the lockdown even seems to have brought some new members to the scene, because one thing you could always do even in the toughest lockdown phases is drive a car!"
He explains: "The subjectively positive mood among dealers is evidenced on the one hand by the fact that the German Classic Car Index, which we compile annually for the VDA, has also risen slightly and that our evaluation of Monterey Auction Week, which is considered the "international summer barometer" of the classic car market every August, shows a clear upward trend. 37% higher total sales proceeds than in 2020, 36% higher sales ratio and a 28% higher average price speak for themselves. What's still missing now are attractive events and trade fairs with a live feel that whet the appetite for classic cars, and Motorworld Classics Bodensee is just the ticket. We will definitely be there again."
Motorworld Classics Bodensee will take place from Friday, May 6 to Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the exhibition grounds in Friedrichshafen. Further information can be found on the official website of the trade fair.
