Across approximately 45,000 square meters of exhibition space, dealers and private sellers showcased classic cars from a wide variety of brands and eras. A large parts market, along with numerous clubs and associations, made the Classic Expo a lively gathering place for collectors, dealers, and classic car enthusiasts.
Journeys Through Time and Anniversaries
“The Classic Expo 2026 has once again demonstrated the importance of Salzburg as a hub for the international classic car scene. The high level of visitor interest, the diversity of the classic cars on display, and the positive atmosphere made the show a resounding success. We are particularly pleased that our offerings appealed to both long-time classic car enthusiasts and a new, interested audience,” summarized Managing Director Alexander Kribus.
Highlights included special exhibits celebrating 75 years of Porsche Motorsport, 70 years of Porsche Diesel, and the world of Märklin featuring Peter Alexander’s model train layout. Also, the 30th anniversary of the Porsche Diesel Club Europa e.V., the 90th anniversary of the Fiat 500 Topolino, the 140th anniversary of Mercedes-Benz innovation, and American muscle cars captivated visitors with insights into automotive history. The supporting program featured interesting expert presentations and, with the Art Tractor Project, an extraordinary art project to benefit Austrian Cancer Aid.
Successful Auction
Another highlight of Classic Expo 2026 was the classic car auction held by Humer, Granner & Co. on the Saturday of the fair. With more than 230 vehicles up for auction, a new record was set. Over 90 percent of all vehicles were sold. Among the highlights were a 1976 Maserati Bora 4900, which fetched 94,300 euros, and a 1957 Denzel 1300 Serien Super, which sold for 126,500 euros.
Exhibitors also gave the Classic Expo 2026 positive reviews. In addition to the great interest in historic vehicles, the trade show weekend was characterized above all by personal interactions and the enthusiasm of the visitors. Thomas H. Rupf of Carruca specifically highlighted the auction as a major draw that brings new audiences to the fair. He also noted the attractive location in Salzburg, which appeals to both women and families.
Positive Atmosphere
“The Classic Expo clearly stands out from other classic car shows, above all due to the exceptionally high quality of the exhibitors and vehicles, making it very appealing to visitors interested in buying,” emphasizes Xavier Molenaar of Oldtimer Farm, who was exhibiting for the first time this year.
Simon Pühringer of Auto Pühringer also gives a positive assessment: A joint event with the Ferrari Club Austria drew over 100 guests to the booth on Saturday afternoon, where the club kicked off its year-end celebration. The next Classic Expo will take place October 15–17, 2027, at the Salzburg Exhibition Center.
