For the second time, Broad Arrow is organizing an auction at the Dolder Grand Hotel during Auto Zürich on November 7, 2026. In addition to various automobilia (including books, models, etc.), 81 cars and a Riva boat will be offered for sale. The 82 vehicles have been collectively appraised at CHF 36 million, so an average of CHF 439,192 is expected per car or boat.
45% of the vehicle lots will go under the hammer without a reserve price. On average, the cars are just under 35 years old.
Dominance of the Major Brands
With 14 Ferraris, 11 Mercedes-Benz and 11 Porsches, six Lamborghinis, and four BMWs, well-known brands make up the bulk of the offering. But more exotic brands such as Autobianchi, Bizzarrini, Facel Vega, and Monteverdi can also be found in the lineup.
The no-reserve rate varies from brand to brand; for Alfa Romeo and Land Rover, it’s 100%, while for Lamborghini, it’s only 17%.
From very small to quite large
The range of vehicles on offer is extensive.
It ranges from the compact 1962 Autobianchi Bianchina Trasformabile—valued at CHF 40,000 to 50,000 to the 1987 Aston Martin Lagonda with a shooting brake body, priced at CHF 250,000 to 350,000.
Michael Knight’s Secret Weapon
Perhaps the most unusual item at a classic car auction is the 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, which was converted into the K.I.T.T. show car back then. K.I.T.T. stands for “Knight Industries Two Thousand,” and the black Trans Am—an intelligent, self-driving car that knew all the tricks of the trade—was the star of the TV series “Knight Rider” alongside David Hasselhoff. The episodes, filmed and aired between 1982 and 1986, were popular with young and old alike. K.I.T.T. could not only drive on its own, but was also a good conversationalist. Here’s an example: “I hate to tell you this, but cars really aren’t people. They have neither family ties nor a personality.” Michael replied, “I wonder why I keep forgetting that.” And K.I.T.T. commented, “You may have developed a psychological bond with me. That would be a logical human reaction.”
The show car mimics some of the capabilities shown in the TV series, but it can neither activate the “Turbo Boost” nor drive itself. Due to the extensive modifications, the car also cannot be registered for road use.
The specialists at Broad Arrow have valued the Pontiac at between CHF 250,000 and 500,000.
Two Gullwing Cars
No fewer than two Mercedes-Benz models featuring the famous gull-wing doors will go under the hammer in Zurich on November 7, 2026.
First up is the 1955 300 SL, which was originally delivered to the “Flash Gordon” illustrator. Painted in fire-engine red, the car stands out for its high level of originality, with matching numbers on the chassis, engine, body, steering gear, and rear axle. The odometer reads 67,000 miles, and the estimated value ranges from CHF 1.35 to 1.65 million.
The silver 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG will be significantly more affordable. It was one of the early models and came with extensive equipment. Apparently, it suffered water damage at one point, but seems to be back in top condition and now costs between CHF 175,000 and 215,000.
Special Four-Door Models
Sports car manufacturers have repeatedly sought success in the sedan segment as well. Broad Arrow will offer three cars in this tradition on November 7, 2026.
First up is the 1968 Maserati Quattroporte 4200 in white, designed by Pietro Frua, which is looking for a new owner at a price of CHF 50,000 to 70,000.
Then, in the 1970s, Peter Monteverdi lengthened his 375 sports car to turn it into a four-door sedan. Fewer than 30 were built. As befits a car of this caliber, they were powered by a 7.2-liter V8 from Chrysler. Now, prices of 185,000 to 230,000 Swiss francs are expected for the fully restored 375/4 with chassis number 3115.
Also rare, though at least 244 were built, is the De Tomaso Deauville designed by Tom Tjaarda. The car on offer is from the second series and left the factory in 1980. The elegant sedan has been estimated at CHF 30,000 to 55,000.
For those who find these three classics too slow or simply too old, but who prefer a four-door car, the 2021 BMW M5 CS might be the right choice. The 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine produces 635 PS and delivers its power to all four wheels. The starting price is CHF 125,000 to 150,000, and like the Maserati and the De Tomaso, it’s being offered without a reserve price.
Rarities from the Super Classic Era
Just under half of the offerings consist of super classics from the 1950s through the 1990s.
Among the cars set to go under the hammer are a 1966 Ferrari 275 GTS, a 1986 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV, and a 1963 Lancia Flaminia Sport Zagato 3C 2.8.
There are also several Porsches for sale, including one of the rare 1981 924 Carrera GTs.
The 1968 Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada and the 1966 Maserati Mistral Spyder 3700 are rare.
The 1981 BMW M1, with its very special history, is also rare.
A 1960 Facel Vega HK500 and a De Tomaso Mangusta are also up for auction.
American Gems
In addition to the European super classics, two American gems stand out.
First up is the 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray 327/300 coupe, which is offered in excellent condition for CHF 120,000 to 160,000.
And then there’s a 1968 Shelby GT500 KR fastback, estimated at CHF 250,000 to 350,000.
Modern Sports Car Icons
There’s also a truly extensive selection of modern classics built between 2000 and 2025. The selection of neoclassics built after 2006 alone includes 25 cars.
Among the cars for sale is the Bugatti Veyron 14.6 Grand Sport Vitesse, which was unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. It is one of only 92 units produced in the “Jet Grey” color with a two-tone leather interior. The Targa roof is removable.
Also on offer is the 2023 BMW 3.0 CSL that Nick Heidfeld recently purchased.
Also up for auction are a 2008 Gumpert Apollo Sport, a 2017 Ferrari F12tdf, and a 2019 McLaren Senna, to name just a few examples.
Another relatively new model is an Aston Martin DB5, which was built at the factory in 2020 as the “Goldfinger Edition” and sold at the time for over two million pounds. Now, a bid of CHF 750,000 to 950,000 is expected to secure this Bond car, which is not street-legal.
The auction will conclude with a 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari in white. The virtually new vehicle has been estimated at CHF 5.5 to 7.5 million but is being offered without a reserve price. That’s likely to drive the bidding to new heights.
More information and plenty of photos of the individual vehicles are available on the Broad Arrow website.
