After three years, the Bremen Classic Motorshow will open its doors again on Friday, February 3, 2023 - and will once again turn the halls of Messe Bremen in the heart of the Hanseatic city into a paradise for classic car fans of all ages.
Countless two- and four-wheeled icons of motorization history and hundreds of stands invite you to stroll, marvel and talk shop for a whole weekend. The special show is the traditional highlight.
Biedermann & arsonist
A well-behaved shopping cart with a tame 36 hp. Next to it, a brutal 160 hp motorcycle that can even outrun a Porsche from that era in a sprint. What do these high-contrast classic cars have in common?
The type series and the name: Both are called Renault 5 - and come from the same model generation. "It is these pairs of brothers with the greatest possible differences that we are presenting in our special show, 'Biedermann & Brandstifter'," says project manager Frank Ruge. "Using rare originals, of course."
Visitors to the major trade fair, which opens the classic car calendar every year with the traditional slogan "We're kicking off the season", can expect to see seven of these highly contrasting pairings.
From the 50 hp base model of the Ford Capri to its motorsport counterpart, the RS 2600. The 1300-cubic-inch accountant's version of the Audi 80 alongside its once unbeatable rally derivative, the Sport Quattro S1. The oil crisis piggy bank BMW 1502 as well as the spoiler-armored "widow maker" 2002 Turbo. "The naked base models in well-kept factory condition are much harder to organize than their highly upgraded offshoots, which cost up to a million euros and ended up in collectors' hands early on," says Frank Ruge.
Finally live again
Many regular visitors to the Bremen Classic Motorshow are eagerly and impatiently awaiting the spectacular special show. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a virtual presentation in the form of internet streams had to suffice for them in 2021 and 2022. Of course, these audience-free presentations could not offer the atmosphere of a live experience. Nevertheless, they were highly praised by fans of classic vehicles. "At least the Bremen team offered a colorful, technically sophisticated screen show instead of simply canceling the event," was the general tenor of the scene.
Cross-browed, underpowered zero outfitters eye to eye with their evil racing brethren. Here the crocheted toilet roll and the felt hat under the rear window, there the angrily roaring high-performance heart under the hood.
These stark contrasts can now finally be experienced live under the motto "Biedermann & Brandstifter" - right up to the large-mouthed Golf-Class representative.tterly Golf-class representative Lancia Delta 1300 and its excessive, up to 500 hp mid-engine all-wheel-drive transformer Delta S4, which leaves nothing more than the radiator grille and tail lights of the basic model in addition to the vague body shape.
What other dramatic pairings can be expected? The suspense is not taken away here - you can be surprised and thrilled at the Bremen Classic Motorshow 2023.
